Eating healthy and having regular exercises are the best ways to achieve one's body goals.

Heart Evangelista also believes in this combo, and has been visibly living a healthier lifestyle in the past few weeks.

The My Korean Jagiya star rarely uploads workout selfies on her Instagram account, but updates her fans about it through her Instagram stories.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) caught up with Heart in an exclusive interview during the opening of Longchamp's new boutique in Rustan's Makati last March 13.

Heart said there's more to it than just achieving a well-toned abs.

She revealed, "I've been working out, I've been trying to be a bit more healthier preparing my body to get pregnant, to conceive.

"So I'm really working hard on my fitness, not necessarily to lose weight or to have muscles but just to really be healthy."

The 33-year-old star has been very vocal about wanting to get pregnant since late 2016.

In a recent interview with Lhar Santiago of 24 Oras, Heart said she's planning to take a break from showbiz to focus on her baby project with husband Senator Chiz Escudero.

Heart said, "I plan to take a two-year break after this. I’m going to try to conceive. I’m starting already now, so we’ll see, we’ll see what will happen."

Living a healthier lifestyle is one of her preparations to make sure that her pregnancy will not be complicated.

When asked about her workout routine, Heart said, "I run every day. I run straight for 20 minutes, and the next 20 minutes, I walk."

She added, "I have a trainer that goes straight to my house. I box and I do just the usual body weight [training]."

With regard to her diet, Heart consulted an expert and noted that she's not that strictly conscious of her food intake.

Heart is allowed to eat anything, even carbs, as long as it's in portions.

"[In the] morning I have rice, and then [in the] afternoon I have rice. At night, it's just quinoa or just vegetables," Heart said.

She concluded, "I'm allowed to eat because if you eat, you'll lose more weight, but I eat just the right food. Basta bilang siya."
