Iya Villania is proving women can continue their regular workouts even when pregnant.
She demonstrates it in videos that she has posted in a series of Instagram stories on April 10, where she is seen doing crossfit exercises that are safe for pregnant women.
Iya and her husband Drew Arellano are expecting their second child.
She also shares a link to a crossfit journal that explains this kind of workout for pregnant women.
Iya writes in her IG story that the author has been “a major help in giving me the confidence to keep on and keep strong!”
In the following video, Iya is doing a headstand.
While this is safe exercise, Iya reminds her followers to “watch out for any 'coning' action” in the abdominal section.
She further cautions, “FYI, coning is a no-no so keeping an eye out gives you a chance to scale down the movement.”
This calls to mind Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo who did a headstand while she was pregnant with her second daughter Luna, and got her fans worried.
Judy Ann explained at that time, “Hindi bago sa buntis ang paghe-headstand.
“It is totally safe most specially kung suhi ang baby. The pose alone allows the baby to move to its proper position.
“But of course when doing headstands you must be supervised by professionals.”

Iya says the same thing as there are “scaled down” crossfit exercises for pregnant women.
She also stresses the importance of doing the exercises carefully.
“I do what I can. Kung hindi kaya, hindi ko pipilitin. At saka I'm carefully listening to my body.”
Aside from the headstand, Iya also does pistol squats and weightlifting during her crossfit workout.
EASY PREGNANCY. Meanwhile, Iya says she does not need to prepare much for her second pregnancy.
“Ini-enjoy ko lang muna yung pregnancy,” the Lip Sync Battle Philipines host shares during the show's presscon last month.
“I feel like it's nothing new, I think I'll be more chill this time around.
"One and a half pa lang naman si Primo, lahat ng mga pang-baby, I think nandun pa.
“So, at least, I don't have to go through the same preparation that I did for the first baby.”
However, there is one thing she is bracing herself for: the sleepless nights.
Iya said, “Hindi ko talaga ma-avoid, e, kailangan ko talaga siyang i-accept.
"I'm just trying to mentally prepare myself for the puyat again.
“That's the hardest part and yun ang nakakabaliw.”
