Century Tuna Superbods has named its new winners.
This time, the biennial fitness competition has two categories: one for the Ageless and another for the Superbods.
The winners were crowned on Thursday night, April 12, at the Cove Manila in Parañaque City.
STAR-STUDDED. The brand's latest batch of endorsers walked the runway led by ABS-CBN actor Matteo Guidicelli who looked dapper beside the gorgeous Sunshine Cruz.
Kapamilya hunk Gerald Anderson escorted actress Alice Dixson on the runway.
At one point, Alice was asked by the hosts her secret to her youthful glow, she quipped, "I hang out with younger guys!"
Last but definitely not the least, Paulo Avelino and Ina Raymundo received loud cheers as they emerged on the stage.
WINNERS. Training and Admin Support Specialist Johann Ludovica, 42, and Tony Labruscao's mom Angel Jones, 39, were hailed as the first-ever grand winner of the Ageless category.
Angel couldn't believe she won the grand prize.
She told told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) after the show, "A part of me feels like I deserved it because I worked so hard, and I just had it in my mind.
"And I did everything that it took, which meant the mental, physical, my attitude.
"I'm in disbelief, but I also know that I worked so hard to get here so I feel so proud of myself right now."
Her son Tony waited patiently on the sidelines to congratulate his mother for her big win.
For his part, Johann was a little speechless when asked how he felt when he heard his name being called as the winner of the Ageless category.
He told PEP.ph in an interview after the show, "Honestly, mixed emotions. It's my first competition, my first pageant, and I won it.
"It's like I'm still dreaming... I'm so happy, I don't even know if I'll be able to sleep.
"I'm just happy right now, and I just want to celebrate with my loved ones, that's it."
He will also take this chance to continue spreading his fitness campaign.
Johann elaborated, "It's about even if you're working full time, you'll still find time to continue working out, continue eating healthy. And it will benefit you, definitely."
Meanwhile, models Maureen Montagne, 24, and Jules Aquino, 25, were named as the grand winners in the Superbods category.
In an interview with PEP.ph, Maureen expressed how grateful she is for the support she received throughout the whole competition.
She continued, "I feel so blessed. All of us worked so hard for the past month and a half.
"I'm just grateful for this opportunity..."
Maureen will also focus on spreading awareness on childhood obesity as her fitness campaign.
She expounded, "My fitness advocacy is raising awareness about childhood obesity.
"I think if we teach our youth how to live a healthy lifestyle while they're young, we'll have a more healthy and successful community as a whole."
The four winners of Century Tuna Superbods 2018 will each receive P500,000 in cash; an appliance showcase worth PHP250,000 from Indesit, Mabe, and Philips; an editorial campaign contract from Zalora; a training contract from Star Magic; a one-year unlimited elite membership at Gold’s Gym; a fashion magazine supplement feature; PHP5,000 worth of Vansydical Sportswear; and a special prize from Cove.
RUNNERS-UP. This year's runners-up are Filipino-Hungarian entrepreneur Anthony Wahl, 30, and Hampton Court Ballerina Bella Ysmael, 21, for the Superbods category.
In a short chat with PEP.ph, Bella considers her win a dream come true.
She said, "I didn't even expect to even place, but I'm so happy and so proud to be an ambassador of Century Tuna.
"It's definitely and honor, a dream come true. Especially, ever since I started, all I could think about is being one of the ambassadors and here I am now."
AS for her fitness campaign, "Really just about working on yourself and loving yourself.
"I think that loving yourself is the best thing that you can do and once you love yourself, you can really achieve anything that you want."
Beauty expert Mica Fuentes, 39, and fitness enthusiast Jerome Salvado, 39, won 1st runner-up in the Ageless category.
This year's batch of judges included Kiefer Ravena, Francis Libiran, Solenn Heussaff, Tweetie De Leon-Gonzalez, Korina Sanchez-Roxas, PC&V Communications President and Chief Creative Officer Ariel Comia, and Century Pacific Foods Inc. General Manager Greg Banzon.
A dozen special awards were also handed during the finals night.
