It took three months for Jessy Mendiola to achieve her 24-inch waistline.
The Girl In The Orange Dress actress said in a previous interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that she started taking her fitness journey more seriously last February.
By May, she was able to trim five inches from her waistline.
And now, the 26-year-old Kapuso actress has been very dedicated on maintaining her sexy figure.
In a recent interview with Allan Sancon and other members of the press she said, "I want to be healthy and happy."
By eating healthy and doing regular workouts, Jessy has been able to keep her weight below 120 pounds.
"Nag-start ako 140 [pounds], now siguro nasa 115 to 120 [pounds] ako.
"Hindi na ako lumalagpas ng 120 [pounds]."
The actress said her boyfriend Luis Manzano has been very supportive of her weight-loss journey.
She narrated, "He's happy for me kasi simula nung we got together, struggle talaga sa akin yung magpapayat.
"And nakita niya yung journey ko, kaya nung nalaman niya na naabutan ko yung goal ko, yung gusto ko maachieve, he's very happy for me."
Jessy also recalled that moment when Luis got a little emotional with her achieving her goal.
"Naiyak nga yun ng very light, e, kasi nakita niya yung struggle ko na hindi na ako nabibigyan ng work, lagi akong bina-bash ng mga tao na I gained weight, I'm fat daw, or whatever.
"Nung nakita niya na naging positive na ako, naging happy na ako, lumabas yun."
As the party season comes in, many people struggle to keep their figure and maintain a healthy lifestyle. But Jessy reiterated that the trick is to eat healthy food and keep a positive mind.
"Perk na lang yung pagiging sexy, e. It's more about eating healthy.
"So siyempre pag healthy ka, lumalabas yun sa labas and nagiging sexy ka or nagiging fit ka.
"Hindi naman ibig sabihin na nagpapayat ay gusto mo lang talaga maging payat.
"Iba-iba tayo ng katawan and as long as you're healthy sa height mo, sa age mo, and all, you are sexy."
She later added, "People are saying na. 'Oh my gosh, you're blooming!' or like 'Ang galing, nagpapayat ka ganyan.'
"It's more of your positive mind also, e. It's also more of your lifestyle and if you have a positive mind and heart, it comes out, physically.
"Kaya siguro yun yung sinasabi ng tao, 'You're so blooming, you're so fit now.'
"I'm just really happy."
CHRISTMAS 2018
This Christmas, Jessy will continue their family tradition of celebrating together either at her home or at her Aunt, Mama Yam's house.
In her interview with Magandang Buhay last December 18, the actress also shared some of the life lessons she learned this 2018.
Jessy told the show's host Melai Cantiveros, Jolina Magdangal, and Karla Estrada that she learned how to make time for herself.
"So ngayon, natutuwa naman ako na parang everything fell into place.
"Lahat ng bagay na kailangan kong gawin, lahat ng bagay na gusto kong gawin, ako na nagde-decide lahat."
The Kapamilya star is currently busy promoting her Metro Manila Film Festival 2018 entry around the metro.
