Smiling, according to Small Laude, does not only show she's happy, but confident as well.
That's why, she's particular about having the perfect white smile.
"Of course, we need to have a healthy tooth and gums, and, of course, it makes us very confident," she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press in an interview on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
She added, "And it's so nice to have a great big smile."
Small was officially introduced as the latest ambassador of the Center for Advanced Dentistry (CAD) on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Shangri-La at the Fort in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
At the event, Small talked about wanting to try ultra-thin veneers after seeing them on friend Cristina Gonzales.
She said, "Actually, I have lots of friends, they go to CAD.
"And, you know, I saw, it's so nice... their teeth look luminous and beautiful, natural.
"And I heard that they are very good in veneers and that's what I want.
"And they have this, I heard the state-of-the-art dental technology. And that's what I want.
"I heard that they don't do this impression.
"That's the rubber, that's the most, I don't want to do it, like, you like open your mouth for so long and dry it. Now they just scan it."

But Small cautioned against the popular "DIY veneers" or "moldable false teeth" trend on TikTok.
She underlined: Seek professional help from a dentist.
"Oh, that's so scary. I wouldn't even encourage you to do that guys.
"Just go to a professional dentist and come to CAD and they have the best veneers.
"Just do it professionally. Just let the professionals do it for you. Okay, just let the professionals do it for you."

WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT GETTING VENEERS
Small learned more about veneers during a Q&A session with CAD's owners—Doctors Nelda Valencia-Eufemio, Mia Valencia-Angeles, and Carlito Librando.

One myth debunked was that they would stain like natural teeth.
Dr. Nelda clarified that veneers are made of porcelain, which doesn't absorb pigments from coffee, wine, and other common stain-causing foods.
But she pointed out that similar to natural teeth, veneers can chip if not properly cared for.
"It can, of course, chip off or fall off. Yes, that's a yes, but, of course, it will depend on the end user.
"We'll tell you a list of what not to eat, but again, at the end of the day, it's really your call."
Meanwhile, Dr. Mia explained that usually, ultra-thin veneers don't need a lot of teeth shaving.
"Kasi people would always have that connotation that magiging shark teeth. They always ask us that, yung mga patients...
"'Doc, will it be like shark teeth if you shave off the front portion?'
"But if your teeth are ideal, then we just shave off 0.5 mm on top of your teeth. Just the top portion, just to keep it straight.
"Because if we imagine you put the veneer on top of your teeth and hindi natin i-shave, then it's gonna be bulky.
"Unlike if we shave off just a little, very minimal, then it will replace the lost enamel.
Yung tatanggalin na enamel, mapapalitan ng porcelain."

Dr. Mia also assured that shaving teeth for veneers will not harm the original teeth's health as dentists are careful to remove only a small amount of enamel.
She continued, "Our veneers will be on top of your teeth. It will cover, it will serve like a jacket to your natural teeth.
"Plus the cement that we are using is fluoride-releasing, so it's double protected."
