Like everyone else, Toni Gonzaga is also excited to celebrate another Christmas with her family—her husband Paul Soriano and their son, Seve.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) spoke to Toni about her Christmas preparations last October 24, Thursday, during The Sweetest Christmas at Rustan's event in Makati City.
While it's okay to go overboard with Christmas decorations, Toni has ways of minimizing the cost.
Her advice, "Yung hardest part is not overdoing it, yung controlling yourself how much stuff you're going to put in the house.
"I recycle some stuff. I sometimes give some to my mom and she uses them sa house niya."
As for repacking the decorations after Christmas, she said, "Yung same team na nag-arrange, sila rin magpa-pack."
She continued, "We have a storage area for them, may special area and dun sila nilalagay.
"The way sila binili, kung paano sila naka-wrap and all, ganun din siya tinatago kasi next year na ulit yung gamit sa kanya."
HOW TO DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS?
Decorating for Christmas can be quite a hassle for working moms like Toni.
To minimize the stress, she usually hires a team to help her out with the decorations.
"I have a go-to team for my interiors, and para synchronized yung look ng house.
"It takes about a whole day because I hire a set of people to finish the whole setup. It takes a whole day lang and tapos na agad."
She added, "You should keep in mind synchonized pa rin dapat yung look para maganda tignan."
Even with a team handling the decorations of their house, the TV host-actress said she remains on top of everything.
"I am very much involved because this is our home na ni Paul, so I want it somehow to reflect both of our personalities."
One of the many things Toni enjoys decorating is their Christmas tree.
She told PEP.ph, "Our usual is nasa eight feet, almost touching our ceiling. But this year, we're planning to make it a little shorter. Hindi na ganun kataas.
"We wanted a simple tree lang na white and blue lang, ganyan."
TONI AND PAUL'S CHRISTMAS THEME
Toni said she usually starts setting up the Christmas decorations after November 1, her mom Pinty Gonzaga's birthday.
"So right after nun kami nagpe-prepare for Christmas," but added it will be less intricate this time.
The Kapamilya actress said, "Two years ago, talagang nag-all out ako ng decorations kasi it was Seve's first Christmas in the house, and we were so excited to celebrate the holiday season.
"This year, we want to be minimalist nang onti. Yung special accents lang na Christmas decors for the house.
"This year, I want just a white, cool feel. Siguro white and blue na Christmas theme, para malamig sa paningin."
