Baron Geisler gives property investments a go after spending almost three decades working in showbiz.

In the exclusive interview of writer Kobe Adam Joshua Laurena, who uploaded it on on his social-media accounts on January 20, 2024, Baron related some life blessings he recently received.

One of them is a new home in Cebu.

"It's 85 percent done," he said. "Dun po kami nag-New Year ng mga anak namin and my wife.

"I’m just so blessed and grateful na ito yung first, sa pagkahaba-haba at pagkatanda-tanda ko na sa showbiz, ngayon ito yung first investment ko."

BARON ON SECURING A STABLE FUTURE

When the funds came his way, Baron made a conscious decision to allocate them for a tangible asset.

According to the 41-year-old celebrity dad, he had his daughter Talitha Cumi in mind when he bought the Cebu property.

Talitha is his daughter with wife Jamie Evangelista,

Along with their residence in Cebu, he disclosed that his wife also owns properties in Mindanao, specifically in Dipolog and Oroquieta, where they plan to set up a ranch.

Looking ahead, the actor is eyeing more real-estate ventures, which he says will move him away from the impulsive purchases he used to make.

He also said, "Eventually, I'll be investing on land. Magpagawa ng apartment, mga ganyan."

Snickering, he continued: "Hindi na yung mga, 'I want a motorcycle.'

"I wanna play it smart na kasi, ako, nagtatrabaho ako hindi puro para sa akin, e. It’s for my family. It's for the future of Talitha."

FINANCIAL GUIDANCE

Among others, Baron said that his manager, Arnold Vegafria, was one to set practical reminders for him to follow, particularly about money matters.

Arnold's advice, as shared by Baron: "'O, Baron, once makuha natin itong pera sa ad, i-ano mo na ito ha, college insurance para kay Tali para wala na kayong iisipan na babayaran.'"

Personally grateful for these financial tips, he openly said that these have been instrumental in changing his approach to money management into one that is more mature.

"So, yun yung gusto ko, gina-guide kami kung papaano mag-ipon, kung paano idiskarte yung pera na makukuha namin sa pagtatrabaho.

"Kasi blood, sweat, and tears talaga, so dapat mapunta sa tama."

He recalled the time he used to squander his money on illegal substances.

"Hindi katulad noon, may PHP1 million ako, bibilhin ko iyan ng cocaine worth PHP1 million," he revealed.

He remembered the guidance he received from his mother, which he did not follow.

She advised him to start small, to build a modest structure on their family land in Batangas.

"It takes time pala."

As the construction of his new home progresses, Baron has figured out a few things. "Even now, 85 percent [complete] pa lang. Yung second floor namin sa gilid, inaasikaso pa.

"So, everything pala, na-realize ko—scars, wounds, mga taong nakaaway—only time heals and it takes time to recover completely.

"It’s a lifetime process, so I really believe and pray na sana mabigyan pa ko ng patience ni God this year."
