Xian Lim reveals Three biggest achievements in Five years

Xian Lim "proud na proud" to be one of the first endorsers of video-on-demand service, HOOQ.

Xian Lim's first stint on television was as a photographer in My Girl.

Eight years later, he's become the leading man of My Girl's female lead Kim Chiu, and has so far topbilled three primetime series and two movies with her.

Indeed, he has come a long way.

"Thankful ako sa lahat,” he remarked during the first anniversary celebration of HOOQ, one the many products he’s endorsing, on March 15, in Revel at The Palace, Bonifacio Global City.

He continued, “And ito, I’ll just say na being part of HOOQ is very kumbaga, proud na proud ako at nagpapasalamat makasali dito.

“Ako, sobra akong fan na fan ng mga movies, especially now, nakakatuwa lang na it’s been one year.

“Ang ganda, being part of HOOQ.”

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) then asked him to enumerate his biggest achievements in showbiz.

He cited three.

1. Overcoming his fears.

He recounted, “When I entered the industry, mahiyain ako na tao, sobra.”

“Hindi ako masyadong lumalabas.”

What did he do?

“You have to understand na bakit ka nga ba mahiyain?

“Masyado ako nako-concious sa mga salita ko, sa mga galaw ko… kilos at galaw.

“It’s just very ano…isa 'yan sa mga inintindi ko, and I tried to understand myself.”

2. "Being able to do a lot of projects and still being here in the [showbiz] industry.”

To date, Xian has already played major role in six teleseryes, he became part of 11 movies, he released two albums plus 4 singles under Star Records, won 19 awards, and has endorsed more than 20 brands.

He is also the male lead in The Story of US.

“Ang tagal ko nang hinahanap yun, e.

“Para sa akin gusto ko na maging, yung mabaliw ka lang talaga sa eksena.

“Mabiliw ka lang talaga sa ginagawa mo, and I think yung indie film will give you freedom to do that.

“Gumawa ako ng indie film before, it’s called Two Funerals.

“I enjoyed, sobra akong nag-enjoy na gumawa kasi you have the freedom to express yourself.”

3. Buy a house for his mother and grandmother.

It’s what he called “katas ng pawis.”

“Very nakakataba ng puso at siyempre nakaka-inspire rin so I can work harder.

“Ever since bata pa ako, yun yung isnasabi nila sa akin, e.

“Sabi nila, 'You have to work hard para, kumbaga, stable ka dapat.'

“Get a house, get a good job.

“Palaging na-i-instill yung values na yun sa akin.

“So, I think, I made them proud dun sa pagbili ng bahay para sa kanila, “ Xian said with a smile.
