Mommy-to-be Iya Villania-Arellano is looking forward to feeling and flaunting the baby bump.

On Easter Sunday, couple Drew Arellano and Iya Villania-Arellano announced that they finally have a bun in the oven.

Earlier in February, both Kapuso stars had been vocal about their "#Project2016," which is to have a baby within the year.

Drew even hoped that their trip to New Zealand would do the trick, but the baby, according to Iya, was "made in the Philippines."

At her pictorial for Calayan Surgicentre, the Kapuso host, who is on to her second trimester, revealed why she and Drew decided to make the announcement on Easter Sunday.

"Well, nagkataon lang. We only thought of announcing it during Easter Sunday the week before.

"And then when we realized, 'O nga 'no, it’s gonna be Easter Sunday.

“Sabi ko, 'Honey, it might be perfect. Sige, let’s do it Easter Sunday.'"

Initially, they wanted to know the baby's gender before making the announcement.

But Iya said, "Because I also felt like I couldn’t wait any longer, I wanted to announce na e kasi na-e-excite ako.

"I wanted to be able to talk about it openly."

BOY OR GIRL? Iya couldn't seem to make up her mind.

"At first I wanted a boy, and then I spoke to some friends, and' tapos biglang sabi ko, ‘Oo nga, parang nice nga kung panganay girl.’ Parang maging ate.

"Pero si Drew, feeling niya boy, so parang na-e-excite ulit ako na baka nga boy.

"'Tapos nasa isip ko, ‘Paano kung na-excite nga ako sa boy 'tapos biglang naging girl?'

"Baka maging sad ako, so ayoko na! Ayoko na ma-excite.

"I’ll save the excitement for when I know na."

They also don't want to preoccupy themselves yet with baby names.

"Mga ideas pa lang. Ayoko sabihin kasi baka mamaya, ma-influence pa yung pag-iisip namin ni Drew na hindi, dapat ito, mas maganda ito.

"Of course, when the day comes, we just want to be purely our decision so we’ll feel it na lang.

"Kasi alam mo naman, ang dali lang ma-i-influence e so we might choose the name for the wrong reasons."
