“Better late than never!”
This was what Heart Evangelista’s mom Cecile Ongpauco said when she set foot on Balesin Island Resort, the place where the Kapuso actress tied the knot with Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero more than a year ago.

The three of them even took a family photo as soon as they arrived at the hangar of Balesin.
Heart wrote in the caption: "Dad was too scared to fly... Welcome to paradise momma."
Of course, Heart didn’t pass up the chance to show her mom the exact place where she and Senator Chiz exchanged vows in the beach front of Balesin Club House, on February 15 last year.
Mrs. Ongpauco quipped, “Where’s the wedding? Am I too early?”
To which Heart replied, laughing, “No, you’re a year and a half late!”
It can be recalled that Heart’s parents didn’t make it to her wedding because of their reported disapproval of her relationship with the senator.
At that time, Senator Chiz already initiated the first move to reach out to Heart’s parents.
Heart’s dad Rey Ongpauco even gave her a letter twice.
The first time was when the Kapuso actress got engaged in September 2014, and the second was when she finally married Senator Chiz.
Heart and Senator Chiz finally patched things up with the actress's parents sometime in May last year.
Fast forward to present time, the celebrity couple make up for lost time with Mrs. Ongpauco, who celebrated her birthday in Balesin.
