It's not unusual for people to associate essential oils with aromatherapy, after all, the sweet scents alone can send you off to dreamland in minutes.
However, did you know that these spa staples have so many other uses?
From cleaning the kitchen to curing headaches, check out the other ways you can utilize them around the home:
Disinfect kitchen countertops with Lavender oil.
This purple shrub isn't limited to helping you get into a relaxed state, it has natural antibacterial properties that can keep your cooking corner germ-free, too.
Fill a spray bottle with water and add about 15-30 drops of lavender oil, shake, and spritz on any surface that needs disinfecting.
As an added bonus, it will leave your home smelling like a bouquet of fresh blooms!

Nurse a headache with Birch oil.
Do you consistently get headaches or, worse, bouts of migraine?
Ease the pain by adding 5-10 drops of Birch essential oil to a quarter-sized amount of shampoo when washing your hair.
Alternatively, you can dab it on your temples, neck, and sinuses with a cotton swab.

Keep pests away with Peppermint oil.
As one of the oldest European herbs used for medicinal purposes, the smallest amount has the power to keep rodents away.
Start by mixing two parts water, one part white vinegar, and 15 drops of Peppermint oil in a spray bottle, and use it an insecticide or insect killer. This recipe can help keep your home minty fresh, too!
