When Yasmien Kurdi and husband Rey Soldevilla Jr. were looking for a place, their top priority was the safety of their daughter Ayesha Zara.
Hence, the couple decided to live in a condominium unit.
Aside from its strict policies, the building is also equipped with close-circuit television surveillance cameras (CCTV).
Plus, it has hotel-like amenities such as the pool and play areas.
Rey told YES! magazine, "Basically, every thing is inside the place naman.
"Iyong playground, andiyan na din."
Agreeing to her husband, Yasmien echoed, "Before ka makaakyat, iyong visitor or kung sinuman, they [security personnel] would call you up.
"And then, dahil sa CCTV cameras, nalalaman namin kung saan pumupunta si Ayesha.
"Security and safety talaga no'ng bata iyong iniisip namin."
As a pilot, Rey, too, has a hectic schedule.
The times both parents have to be away, they manage to check on their only daughter through the mobile app Facetime.
At four years old, Ayesha already knows how to use the app without the help of her yaya.
The proud momma said, "Yong mga bata ngayon, mas marunong pang magkalikot ng mga gadgets kesa sa mga adults.
"Iba na ang mga bata ngayon, ganyan na sila.
"Na-e-explore na nila iyong phone mo!"
A three-bedroom unit in Taguig City serves as home to Yasmien and her family.
Asked what she likes most about the place, she told YES!, "Wery homey, 'tsaka masaya, kasi comfortable and then simple lang, small house kasi condo lang."
The place also holds a lot of memories for Yasmien, "Do'n na ako nagbuntis, do'n na lahat.
"So, a lot of memories na ang nangyari sa place na ito.
"Kaya love na love namin ang house na ito."
She also took pride in the fact that she was the unit's interior "decorator."
She picked "modern contemporary" for the house's design.
Yasmien elaborated, "Gusto kasi namin na sa bawat sulok ng house namin, iba-iba 'yong theme na makikita mo."
The dining table
The kitchen is Yasmien's favorite spot because she loves to cook.
Although it is relatively small, this functional space is equipped with a Panasonic Inverter refrigerator, a cooktop, range hood, a coffee percolator, and a Krups espresso machine.
It was Yasmien who picked the colors for their communal bathroom. She simply wanted it to look "different."
This "princess room" is filled with Ayesha's toys.
Her daddy said the simple bed canopy serves a dual purpose: for aesthetics and "para sa lamok na rin."
However, the celebrity kid prefers to stay in her mommy and daddy's room.
In a separate interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Yasmien said her daughter is now more disciplined.
"Si Ayesha kasi, mas mabait na, like disiplinado na talaga siya.
"Siya mismo tatahimik na when I tell her na ‘Uy do not be noisy’ kasi sa school din niya, tinuturuan na sila ng teacher na mag-share, wag mag-tantrums.”
Compared to the other parts of the unit, the Soldevillas's master bedroom has a darker color palette, like a hotel suite.
Meanwhile, the couple's shared closet is in the other corner of the room.
With a grin on his face, Rey told YES! that Yasmien's clothes and accessories occupy much of the closet space.
But to make room for new stuff, the celebrity mom holds a bazaar every three months to sell their old clothes.
Although this place is very dear to them, Yasmien and Rey have plans of buying a house and lot.
Yasmien added, "Gusto naming magkaroon ng mansiyon.
"Gusto namin ng malaking backyard kasi lalo na pag may next baby, siyempre we have to get a bigger place for Ayesha and her sibling."
