Julius Babao and Tintin Bersola were among the celebrities who became an interior designer for a day at the Urban Filipino Home exhibit in Shangri-La Mall, Mandaluyong City.
Their work was a "reflection of our home," said Julius during a short exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
"This is what our sala kinda looks like.
"We used elements that are seen from our home."
Tintin echoed, "Welcome to our home!
"This reflects our taste sa gamit, our color scheme—you know, little touches.
"I bought my own books which I wrote, so at home you'd see also scattered around my books...
" So yun, elements of our home are here."
This writer and the couple sat in middle of their "living room" display which had an L-shaped sofa, a lounge chair, a coffee table, a contemporary arc floor lamp, a flat screen TV, and paintings from their art collection.
Julius is the one in charge of their home's design and layout.
He said, "Ako, I like modern, contemporary furniture… Most of it are Danish in style."
His choices are usually monochromatic to highlight their extensive art collection at home.
"We chose books na medyo colorful din para magkaroon ng accent yung very monochromatic na living room."
Keeping the cleanliness and orderliness of their household is a collaborative effort.
"We try! We try our best," Julius said with a laugh.
Tintin admitted that, partly, it's their art collection making their home look cluttered.
She said, "We have so art, so much gamit sa bahay. It's clean, but not orderly.
"It's hard to put order kapag maraming collection.
"It's a vast collection, so I call it 'Beautiful chaotic-ness.' There's beauty in chaos!"
