Jennylyn Mercado does the cleaning of her bedroom, including the bathroom. But  the bathtub was quite a challenge, she gave up: "Ang hirap pala maglinis... Ayoko na."

Jennylyn Mercado’s 500-square-meter house and lot in Quezon City has four bedrooms, one guest room, two dining areas, two kitchens, a three-car parking space, a family den, a mini garden, and eight bathrooms.

Her own bathroom with walk-in closet—it has a corner tub, rain shower head, double sink, and an inverter air conditioner—is as spacious as her bedroom.

In her YES! interview in 2016, almost two years after she moved in to her house, the actress admitted to using her corner tub only once.

She said, "Sinubukan ko lang. 'Tapos, naisip ko, ayoko, ayoko. Parang okey na ang shower.

“Kasi parang nag-aaksaya lang ako ng oras, imbes na nag-i-scrub na ako ng katawan.

“Ewan ko, siguro hindi ko siya thing."

Fast forward to May 2018, during her shoot for Headliner, Jennylyn was asked about her now-famous bathtub.

“Alam niyo bang tinanggal ko na ‘yon?” she said.

“Kasi hindi ko siya ginagamit. Sabi ko, ‘Naninilaw na! White ‘yan, di ba?’

“Sabi ko, ‘Naninilaw na ang bathtub ko!’”

Hence, she converted the “nasayang na space” to a closet with sliding doors.

Smiling, she added, “E, di napakinabangan ang space.”

Since the year she bought the house, “Once lang nagamit.”

The Kapuso star briefly explained, “Na-excite ako ‘tapos ang hirap pala maglinis after. Ayoko na.”

No matter how busy she is, Jen cleans her own room, including the bathroom.

“Siyempre kapag sa room ko kasi, ako sana. Ako talaga.

“Pero sa walis-walis, puwede na sila,” referring to her helpers.

“Pero sa ligpit, yung mga galaw [ng gamit] ako na,” the mother of Alex Jazz ended.
