Gabbi Garcia has finally crossed out one item on her bucket list: Buy a house for her family.
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) via phone call on Thursday, February 7, Gabbi said it took her almost five years to finally achieve this dream.
She said, "It’s been a dream of mine, and it’s been my plan na talaga to get a house as soon as makaipon ako.
"Finally, after four or five years in showbiz, I got the house na. This one’s for the whole family naman."
The 20-year-old Kapuso actress has already been uploading photos of the new house since Friday, February 1.
Some of the photos in her Instagram account show the living room and the corridor leading to the bedrooms.
NEW HOUSE
Gabbi and her family's new house is quite spacious, "It’s around 350 sq.m. lot area and it has two rooms upstairs," she said.
"Iko-convert namin yung rooms upstairs into my dream walk-in closet and then a studio for my sister’s music stuff.
"And then three rooms downstairs—the master’s bedroom and yung rooms namin ng ate ko.
"We really wanted it to be spacious kasi when I was a kid, I grew up in a very spacious house.
"It was an ancestral house so it’s a bit old na.
"So, we decided to transfer to a condo.
"Now, we’re living in a condo and, siyempre, we missed the space. Medyo nanibago kami sa pag-adjust.
"Talagang it’s a big adjustment for us coming from a big house and then move into a condo.
"So now, we wanted more space na talaga. Finally, nakahanap kami ng house na really spacious and maaliwalas.
"And we want it to be very modern."
The new house is in Parañaque City, a location meaningful to Gabbi.
She explained, "Batang south kasi ako so South pa rin siya."
And also because, "Kasi my mom is a flight attendant so kailangan near siya sa airport."
The Studio 7 star said the house was already standing when they found it sometime in October and November.
"Nakatayo na siya when I got it, but we’re doing extra finishing pa para according to our style."
INTERIORS
For the interiors, Gabbi has sought the help of Desaurum Design Studio.
"I love how hands-on they are kasi talagang they plan the house according to your personality.
"And we just sent them pegs and they totally get it na."
The Pamilya Roces star said her family wanted a house totally different from their ancestral home.
She described, "For the living room, we wanted something modern and elegant na may pop ng color na konti."
Gabbi said she particularly wanted a mini garden and a big kitchen.
"No one cooks in the fam, but now, since may kitchen na, I think I should slowly learn."
She added, "Favorite space ko sa house siyempre yung walk-in closet ko.
"And then we’re gonna be creating a breakfast nook sa likod. It's outdoors 'tapos may mga plants...
"If we decide to have breakfast outside, may spot dun. Pati for grill, ganyan."
