Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres recently underwent her ninth chemotherapy session.
Based on the Instagram video she posted on August 19, the beauty queen's trip to the hospital became like a family gathering.
Dayanara's caption, written in Spanish, read: "Always blessed, Treatment #9. We are halfway there.
"Even though the last few days have been filled with emotions—Cristian traveled to New York to start his new life, Ryan turned 16 and had his first day back to school, and I had my treatment 9 (which is half of my entire treatment)—I feel happy to have my siblings holding my hand on this day, which they knew would be one of the toughest ones for me.
"Jowie as usual traveled from Arizona, Ricky made a surprise visit from Puerto Rico and my sis Jinny, feeling every minute, every emotion I have felt the past few days without you by my side would have been unbearable without you by my side.
"Thanks for your advice, for listening, for massaging my back and caressing my hair until I fell asleep, you really are an angel to me.
"And my queen mother, I would love to one day be able to be like you, you are the most dada and beloved mother and grandmother in the world. We love you.
"And my great friends q day by day cares about me... Thank you @realizzz for always worrying about how I feel and make me laugh & my @paulanothonylove because by having you my side you give me so much peace and fill me more of faith...
"Thanks to all my followers who don’t let me down a minute, that they have me in their thoughts and in their prayers. What an honor it is to have your love and support."
This was not the first time Dayanara's family joined her chemo session.
The Puerto Rican beauty queen has been documenting her treatments since she announced her illness in February 2019.
Part of her family's gesture of support was wear a white T-shirt with the words "BE BRAVE," and a black ribbon which means "black tumor," and represents melanoma, a type of cancer that develops from the pigment-containing cells known as melanocytes.
