The 52 candidates from all over the country comprising the pioneer batch of Miss Universe Philippines are all set to vie for the coveted crown, and represent the country in the international beauty pageant.
They were formally introduced last Friday, February 14, by the Miss Universe Philippines Organization led by its national director, the former Miss Universe Philippines titleholder Shamcey Supsup-Lee.
She was joined by the MUP's core team, among them Albert Andrada, the Design Council head; Jonas Gaffud, creative director; Lia Andrea Ramos, head of Women Empowerment Committee and Charity; Atty. Nad Bronce, head of legal affairs; and Mario Garcia, business development and marketing head.
During their launch, the Miss Universe Philippines candidates paraded on the red carpet of the Manila Hotel's Maynila Ballroom elegantly, each exquisitely draped in a modern Filipiniana dress.
Several pageant veterans joined the parade, including Michele Gumabao, who represented the country during the Miss Globe 2018 pageant.
Former Binibining Pilipinas candidates also made the cut, including Alaiza Malinao (2015, Top 15); Apriel Smith (2016, Top 15); Sandra Lemonon (2018, Top 15); Sigrid Grace Flores (2018, Top 25), and Maria Isabela Galeria (2019, Top 15).
Here are all the candidates of Miss Universe Philippines 2020:
All candidates will participate in several events leading to the grand coronation night on May 3, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
