Meet Deirdre "Dids" Veneracion, the only daughter of actor Ian Veneracion and wife Pam Gallardo.
An aspiring musician, Dids caught the public's attention after she shared her coming-out story on the ABS-CBN morning program Magandang Buhay, this Wednesday, March 4.
Her dad, who was beside Dids during the interview, recounted: "Dumating siya, 'tapos medyo teary-eyed. Sabi niya, 'Daddy, I need to tell you something.'
"Sabi ko, 'What? Sit down.'
"'Tapos sabi niya, 'I like girls.'
"'Tapos sabi ko sa kanya, 'Me also. I like girls.'
"'Tapos nagtataka siya, parang, 'What?' 'Tapos sabi ko, 'Yeah.'
"Sabi niya, 'It's okay?'
"Sabi ko, 'Yes. Just don't ever be apologetic about it, not even to me.' Sabi ko, 'You can be whoever you want to be and I have full support.'
"'Tapos sabi niya, 'You know?'
"Sabi ko, 'Oo naman! Bata mo pa lang, macho mo na!'"
Ian considers Dids his "mini-me."
The actor tells YES! magazine in his feature article in 2017, "She's so much like me, sa ugali at sa mga hilig.
"She plays the piano and the guitar. So, pag may piano at guitar, kunwari pumunta siya sa piano, kunin ko iyong guitar. Magja-jam kami."
The father-daughter tandem enjoys paragliding, sailing, hiking, and motorbiking together.
Their shared love for music has helped Dids discover her love for songwriting.
The 19-year-old musician tells MYX Philippines in a February 2020 interview, "I started 8 or 9. I learned the guitar first, and then the piano.
"I had no formal training, my dad just taught me.
"I really enjoyed it, and I enjoyed more of the content, like the writing and exploring it by myself, and then performances."
Dids currently has a single titled "Someone."
Aside from music, Dids also seems interested in comedy.
As seen on her Instagram feed, she has a weekly comedy-nights gig in Sydney, where she is currently studying.
