Wanting to share her blessings, Ivana Alawi thought of giving her brother Hash the biggest surprise of his life.
Ivana said in a vlog she posted last September 15, "Si Brother, ayaw niya ng mga Rolex, ayaw niya ng mga bag. Ayaw niya iyong mga ganun kasi simpleng tao lang siya, e."
So the 23-year-old YouTube star came up with a practical gift—a parcel of land on which her brother can build his future house.
She had secretly been going about buying the property, and had finally secured all the documents on the day she shot her vlog.
The surprise
With their mom Fatima Marbella tagging along, Ivana found a way to take her brother to see the property without giving away her surprise.
Hash's lot was located in the same subdivision where Ivana was having the dream house of her mother built.
Ivana had Hash drive them to the subdivision, and the actress and mom Fatima checked their site first.
Afterwards, Ivana told Hash that she wanted to visit one more place inside the subdivision.
Hash didn't question Ivana and just followed her instructions.
They arrived in front of an empty piece of land, and Ivana got off the car. She held a small attache case in her hand, which, unknown to Hash, contained the land documents.
Mom Fatima and Hash got off the car as well.
To hype up the surprise, Ivana thought of playing a quick game of "Deal or No Deal" with Hash. The show is known for using attache cases which contain the unknown prize.
Hash, who figured this was going to be some sort of prank, played along with his sister.
Ivana then handed the file case and told him to open it. Hash, still clueless, did as instructed.
Hash opened the file case, and that was when he saw the documents with his name on them. He owned the piece of land he was standing on!
He was speechless. He also remained half-believing, until his sister told him the papers were for real.
Hash could only mutter, "It's too much."
Holding back tears, he hugged his sister and their mother.
Ivana now plans to give her younger sister Mona her own piece of property in the same subdivision, too.
Seems like the ABS-CBN talent wants her family to stay close, way after they lead separate lives.
