Kween Yasmin reveals excessive bullying made her drop out of college

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph, social-media content creator Kween Yasmin recounts one form of excessive bullying she experienced in college. "Nahulog po ako sa may hagdanan mo that time po, may tumulak po."

Kween Yasmin would have been a second-year college student by now.

The content creator and social-media personality, whose real name is Yasmin Marie Asistido, stopped going to school because she was bullied.

Kween Yasmin gained popularity online because of memes about her and her entertaining "cover songs" on her YouTube channel, which now has over 111,000 subscribers.

Her "Lalaking Manloloko" video received millions of views and went viral on social media. This was her version of the Ex-Battalion song "Hayaan Mo Sila."

"Kung pinagpatuloy ko po yung pag-aaral siguro ano second year college na ako ngayon," she said in an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) via Facebook Messenger last May 10, 2021.

The 20-year-old social-media personality continued, "Hindi lang natuloy kasi dahil sa bullying na naranasan ko po."

BULLIED IN COLLEGE

Kween Yasmin opened up about the bullying she experienced when she was studying Multimedia Arts at a college in Dasmariñas, Cavite in 2018.

The aspiring singer recalled, "Yung first-year college yung... hindi na po ako nag-continue dun. Last 2018 lang po yun, e.

"Nahulog po ako sa may hagdanan mo that time po... may tumulak po. 'Tapos sunud-sunod na po yung pambu-bully po nun."

Kween Yasmin added she suffered weeks of emotional and physical abuse from her bullies until she decided to drop out of school.

The Viva Artist Agency talent continued, "Pangangantiyaw 'tapos kung anu-ano po yung sinasabi 'tapos kung anu-ano po yung mga binabato sa akin that time po.

"'Tapos pumunta po ako dun sa guidance office 'tapos sabi ko aalis na po ako dun sa school. Hindi na po ako magpapatuloy mag-aral dun sa eskuwelahan na yun."

"'Tapos in-ask po ako ng guidance office na, 'Desidido ka na bang umalis kasi mga highest grades naman yung mga [grado mo]?' 'Tapos sabi ko, 'Yes, po.'"

For now, Kween Yasmin is focused on working to help provide for her family. But given the chance, Kween Yasmin still wishes to finish her college education.

MESSAGE FOR BASHERS

Since January 2018, Kween Yasmin has been the subject of negative comments on social media. She admits that she still gets affected by some comments of her bashers, especially those who are threatening her life.

The content creator told PEP.ph, "Mas naapektuhan po ako dun sa comment yung pagbabanta po ng buhay, ganun po. Okay lang po sana yung mga comment na mahinahon lang sana. Hindi yung nakakaano ng damdamin."

But through the years, she has learned to ignore these kinds of comments.

"Hindi ko na lang po pinapatulan kasi pag pinatulan mo mas lalaki lang po yung issue."

Asked what she wants to tell her bashers, Kween Yasmin said, "Ang masasabi ko lang sa mga bashers, lagi po silang mag-iingat. Sana healthy po sila at malayo sila sa kapahamakan, ayun. 'Tapos more blessings, ayun po."
