Catriona Gray has given dozens of tips on becoming a beauty queen since she won Miss Universe in 2018.
And one piece of advice she wants aspiring beauty queens to remember most of all is to smile from the heart.
She told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an e-mail interview in September 2021, "Honestly, my biggest tip would be to identify your source of joy on stage.
"Anyone can feel the flatness of a ‘fake smile.' So whether it’s from the flutters in your chest, or a reaction to the crowd - a genuine smile always shines brightest."
Catriona then mentioned her latest "source of joy," the ones that put a smile on her face always.
She said, "My puppies! I know they aren’t people, but they brighten up every one of my days."

Catriona recently hosted Miss South Africa 2021 pageant along with fellow beauty queen Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi in Cape Town.
Although her work has allowed Catriona to travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, she misses traveling for leisure and exploring new cities.
When asked which countries she'd like to go to for a vacation, Catriona answered, "I would love to visit Thailand again.
"I haven’t been since my coronation last December 2018, but it’s one of my favorite destinations in Asia because of its food and vibrant culture.
"I would also love to do a Euro Trip with my mom. Just take a whole month and explore."
For now, Catriona is focusing on her music career and creating new content for her YouTube channel's subscribers.
The Sparkle PH ambassador told PEP.ph, "I have some content coming up. It’ll be a little bit more personal than what I’ve released before.
"It’s been a hard line to walk because, in a way, I feel safe in ‘keeping some of my life for myself.’
"But I also know how much my supporters love to be invited into parts of my life that aren’t seen on my usual social media platforms.
"It requires an extent of vulnerability, which as a private person is quite a stretch for me, but something that I’m working on.
"So I look forward to sharing my life more with my audiences in the near future."
