Unfortunate, even unexpected, events in one's life make navigating one's days a little more difficult.
At a time of pandemic, in particular, not even celebrities can keep their guard up all the time.
Some have fallen into anxiety, if not sadness, even as they brave their way through life.
At the press conference for the launch of WIDE International Film Productions, celebrity partner "Mamang" Pokwang, touching on the subject, alluded to a personal matter.
This began after WIDE International CEO and chairwoman April Ann Martin gave a thank-you speech addressed to the Kapuso comedienne.
April announced: "Finally, she is here with us. Mamang, it’s an honor.
"Thank you so much, Mamang. Sobrang napasaya mo kami Mamang, as in sobra. Kami dito fans mo talaga.
"And sobrang happy kami kasi pandemic nagkakilala kami ni Mamang, and napakabait ni Mamang.
"Para sa kaalaman ng lahat, this is the first time that we have her. Sobrang bait na tao ito ni Mamang, and we appreciate your trust.
"We appreciate your love for us. Ramdam, e, kasi pag naka-chat ko, iba si Mamang na tatawagin ka niyang ‘nak,’ kahit na bago lang [nagkakilala]."
To this, Pokwang quipped: "Nasanay na kasi ako na ganun, parang lahat anak ko na."
Continuing, the CEO said: "Sobrang bait and sobrang bagay na bagay po kayo sa Wide International and Aromagicare.
"Happy kami na dahil may Wide International Film Production na tayo and concert and entertainment company, isa po si Mamang sa magkakaroon ng major concert and movies sa Wide International."
As response to being called a perfect fit for the brand, Pokwang clapped and nodded wholeheartedly, to the delight of those present.
The actress/TV host/comedienne then said: "Nakakatuwa. As a very busy mom... talaga namang lahat ay gagawin para sa mga anak. Bagay na bagay na nasama po ako sa pamilya na Aromagicare.
"Sobrang bagay lahat. Sobrang nagpapasalamat ako na nakilala ko sila. Now that I’m [a] single mom again," Pokwang said.
"Again...," she added, as she started to tear up.
"No—fine, fine, fine. It’s okay. Fine, fine, fine lang ang buhay. Nakakatuwa na may mga nakilala akong tao na kagaya po ninyo, and siyempre sumusuporta."
It is no secret that Pokwang has broken up with her American partner, Lee O'Brian, the father of her youngest daughter Malia.

When April approached the 52-year-old TV host, Pokwang said to her: "Wag niyo akong paiyakin. Masaya to, e, masaya lang tayo. Uy, bakit [ako] naiiyak."
Then, she really cried. Still speaking, her voice breaking, Pokwang tried to make the crowd understand why.
"Ano 'to ha, kasi andaming nangyari during the pandemic. Andaming nangyari. Andaming dumating sa buhay, pero lahat yun nalalampasan ko."
Then, taking a deep breath, she switched back to being the comedienne.
"Hay, naamoy ko lang yung Aromagicare essential oil—hinga, hinga. Tapos uupo lang ako sa aking massage chair, hinga ulit, ang sarap ng buhay. And then, of course, siyempre sa mga suporta ng mga kaibigan, thank you!"
Fellow celebrity Ken Chan, who was beside her, tried to show he had her back.
To which Pokwang responded with, "Ewan ko ba, sabi ko nga ano, e, parang tanga 'tong si Ken," sending the crowd laughing.
WIDE International COO and President Pauline Mae Publico also stepped up to vouch for Pokwang's value as a partner.
Pauline speech of praise: "Last year, for your information po, si Mamang, naalala niyo po kung paano tayo nagkakilala?
"Binigyan natin ng celebrity package si Mamang through her makeup artist. And then, natuwa kami kay Mamang kasi sobrang appreciative niya.
"Alam niyo yung nag-post siya sa FB, nag-post siya sa My Day, nag-post siya sa IG niya. Sabi ko, 'Napaka-appreciative ng tao na tulad ni Mamang, na ang ganda niyang ka-longtime partner sa business.'
"So, ayun nga, to cut the long story short, nagtitiwala kami kay Mamang and nagtitiwala din siya kay Aromagicare. So, thank you so much, Mamang."
Thank you so much."
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, WIDE International's executives officially welcomed Pokwang, assuring her: "Kami po, puwede niyo po kaming gawing long-term partner dito sa Aromagicare."
Gladly, Pokwang agreed, saying: "Yes, hanggang kay Malia."
