GMA-7 singer Golden Cañedo has decided to pursue one of her biggest dreams: become a registered nurse.
Golden is currently taking up her bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of Visayas in Cebu.
On Friday, October 28, 2022, she updated Instagram with photos from her capping, badge investiture, and candle-lighting ceremony.
The event was held on Thursday, October 27, 2022.
In the caption of her post, Golden acknowledged she still has a long journey ahead of her, but she is glad she has made the first step to achieving her dream.
The 20-year-old singer wrote, "I still cannot believe I have made this far.
"I know what awaits me is a long journey to success, but I'm willing to continue as God and those who are supporting me will always be by my side, no matter what. [emoji]
"SN now forda RN puhon! [emoji]"
Golden also had a pictorial before ceremony.
She posted the photos on Instagram last October 8, 2022, Saturday.
"Pictorial Day for my Capping and Pinning Ceremony," she wrote in the caption of her post with a green heart and nurse emoji.
Among those who left encouraging words for Golden was Kapamilya singer Carol Banawa, who now works as a nurse in the U.S.
In the comments section of Golden's post, she wrote, "Kayang-kaya [heart emoji] you got this! You’re Golden [emojis]"
Meanwhile, other netizens filled the comments section of Golden's posts with heart emojis and congratulatory messages.
In July 2021, Golden moved back to her hometown in Cebu to focus on her studies. She finished senior high school with flying colors.
Golden started her singing career in 2017 after joining It's Showtime's "Tawag ng Tanghalan." In 2018, she joined the first season of GMA-7's The Clash and emerged as the grand champion of the singing competition.
