At the grand reveal on November 8, 2022, at the Makati Diamond Residences, Yassi admitted she was initially hesitant to accept the title.
She explained, "I really wasn't prepared po rin kasi talaga. I think physically, that's number one. I was on vacation 'tapos kailangan ko bumalik, and then kailangan in two weeks, I'd be ready to be on this calendar with millions of copies.
"So the pressure was there and I know a lot of people din, who came before me, were almost perfect, right?
"Pero sabi ko rin sa sarili ko, 'Just go and be your healthiest version of yourself. Kung ano kaya mong gawin, go strive for your best because you're only in competition with yourself, so do your best lang.' I hope you guys like my best."
When the offer came to her, Yassi said she was "definitely surprised, and shocked, and honored."
She added, "At the end of the day, being a part of such a great legacy is something that's still gonna be a milestone in my life.
"Hindi ko ever na-imagine pero when the opportunity came to me, tapos sabi ko, 'Ang ganda-ganda ng brand, and siyempre it's been around 188 years, and to be chosen, it's such an honor.'
"So I think it's really something special na kailangang paghandaan."
YASSI's DIET
Yassi got serious about her preparation as "it was quite challenging just to prove self-discipline."
She said, "I had to go on a nutritional diet. Of course, that's still good for your body. It was quite challenging, but, in a way, it's really fun as well."
Yassi's goal was to have a diet that contained 164g carbohydrates, 44g fat, and 66g protein.
Her diet also called for her to give up certain things, as she said, "Kailangan ko munang i-give up siguro carbs."
But there is a reason why Yassi has been openly sharing the challenges she has faced when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
She said, "I'm so open to everybody about you know, like my battles also with like yo-yo-ing [also called yo-yo dieting or weight cycling] and eating properly and healthier and being stronger.
"So I feel like if I do achieve this, hopefully I get to empower other people."

Yassi also noted that her nutritional diet is just one aspect of her commitment to lead a healthy lifestyle.
She said, "I went through a big fitness journey this year, katulad nung napakita ko rin naman sa mga tao online. It was a lot of discipline for me, mentally, physically. But I feel good, I feel happy, I feel healthy.
"I hope this inspires people also to get back. 'Cause yun yung usual comments na sinasabi na parang nagti-thank you sila. So for me, I'm happy if we all like grow together."
YASSI'S FAVORITE CALENDAR GIRLS
Yassi would like to use this moment in her life as an opportunity to inspire people.
"If I'm in a position like this with a platform, and blessed to have so many people who are following, parang I'd rather not share only selfies, but also inspirational messages and make them smile or laugh. You know, even just the little things," she said.
To become an inspiring Filipina, Yassi has her own role model: none other than Anne Curtis.
Yassi revealed, "I love Ate Anne so much. She is a person that has a lot of values aside from talent, aside from beauty.
"And she's been here for so long, ibig sabihin, patuloy niya lang ginagalingan at pinupursigihan. I really respect people like her."
Anne and Pia Wurtzbach are actually Yassi's favorite calendar girls.
"My favorite recently was Pia's. Because first is obviously just very classy and minimal effort, and she's so beautiful right?
"She's one of the reasons din that Philippines was another name that was brought to the world," Yassi explained.
"'Tapos po siguro 2011, Ate Anne. She's my favorite so she'll always be on my list."
