Anne Curtis raised more than PHP1 million for her funding drive as ambassadress of UNICEF (United International Children’s Emergency Fund).
She fulfilled her promise to double the amount that would be raised from Takbo Para sa Bata, her campaign drive to help child victims of violence, abuse, and exploitation.
To attract donors, emphasizing her commitment to this drive, Anne ran at the 42-km Tokyo Marathon in Japan on March 3, 2023.
On her Instagram account, the It’s Showtime host announced the success of her charity drive with gratitude to the donors who helped make it happen.
Anne posted on IG on March 18, 202, “We can ALL be heroes, even if it’s just for one day.
"Closing my funding page at 1,089,264.67! Way above our goal & as promised, I will be matching that amount.
“So with our collective effort, we have raised 2,178,529.34.
“I would like to THANK each & every hero who donated. Whether it was 1 peso or 50,000 pesos, it was of great value.
“No donation was small, because behind each donation was a big heart that wanted to help Filipino children who are victims of abuse get the help they need to heal and recover.
“Reading your messages & having that core goal of making a difference in lives of children kept me inspired for 42.2kms.”
She did not forget to thank her husband Ewann Heussaff and their daughter Dahlia for just being there as moral support and inspiration.
