The news about Dra. Vicki Belo's assistant, Millet, flying to Paris for two days to get her favorite Jean-Paul Hevin cake has stirred various reactions among netizens.
Millet made this revelation on Dra. Vicki's vlog which was uploaded on YouTube on January 11, 2024.
However, some netizens overlooked the detail that Millet's flight to Paris didn't cost anything because they used the airline's miles points to get a free ticket.
Dra. Vicki Belo also said in her vlog, "Libre po yung ticket, hindi naman ako ganun ka spoiled."
Her husband, Dr. Hayden Kho, reiterated the same information in his exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on January 18, 2024, Thursday.
HAYDEN KHO ON NETIZENS' REACTION
Before the interview, Dr. Hayden said he was unaware of the mixed reactions from netizens regarding Millet's two-day trip to Paris because most comments he saw were supportive.
"To be honest, I don't know kung ano yung negative comments na sinasabi nila," he told PEP.ph during the launch of Belo Emface in Surge Fitness + Lifestyle in Glorietta 3, Makati City.
At any rate, he never paid them much attention, "If it's... sinasabi nila nagka-flex kami ng wealth, then it's really up to them.
"At the end of the day, I feel that the people who are making bad comments about anyone don't really care about those people who they're commenting on.
"They don't really know them, and they don't really care about them. They just want to comment.
"I think it's a matter of perspectives, di ba? Depende kasi kung, depende sa tao kung anong tinitignan nila.
"Do you look at the positive or do you look at the negative?"
He added, "The way people see things is usually the way they see themselves, or the way, the lens through which they see things.
"May mga tao na nakikita yung benefit of it. They're very optimistic about it.
"They're very, let's say, 'happy' for them.
"Mayroon din mga tao na either maiinis, kasi yun yung tingin nila sa buhay.
"Mas madaling tingnan yung, mas nagkakaroon sila ng satisfaction, I guess, looking at the things that are wrong, rather than the things that are right."

With this in mind, he expressed his gratitude to those who chose to view the situation positively.
Dr. Hayden said, "I would say we're more grateful to them. We just wanted to show our appreciation to them.
"Kung naging magandang example yun para sa bang mga tao, mga tao na may empleyado din, kung naging magandang example yung ginagawa namin sa mga tao, to those people, then that vlog just become meaningful."
HAYDEN KHO: GESTURE OF APPRECIATION
Dr. Hayden also stressed that those free trips were a gesture of appreciation for their long-time employees.
"Kami, we wanted to... because of their loyalty to us," Dr. Hayden told PEP.ph.
"And because of, sabi ko nga namin, parang friends na namin iyan, family na namin iyan, we wanted them to also experience what we enjoy, right?"
He reiterated, "We treat our people kasi as family. Especially yung matatagal na namin kasama.
"Si Marife and si Millet, matagal-matagal na namin siyang kasama. Si Marife, more than 20 years. Si Millet, more than 17 years.
"We travel together all the time. Kahit saan kayo magpunta, kasama si Marife or si Millet."
