Netizens were surprised to find out that Heart Evangelista and Jodi Sta. Maria are actually related.
In an undated livestream session via Instagram, Heart answered questions from her fans.
When someone mentioned Jodi, Heart revealed that Jodi is her second cousin on her mom's side.
"Jodi Sta. Maria is my cousin from my mother's side," Heart confirmed.
The Kapuso actress further added that she didn't even know about it until a few years after she started her career in showbiz.
Heart told her Instagram Live viewers, "And I didn't even know she was my cousin until like a few years of show business.
"But she's my cousin. Second cousin. From my mom's side."

Heart had nothing but praise for Jodi, describing her as truly one of the kindest people in the local entertainment industry.
She said, "I love Jodi Sta. Maria! She's super nice. Those are one of the genuine, genuine ones in show business."
Heart added, "Jodi is a great actress."
Heart went as far as likening Jodi's beauty to Hollywood actress Natalie Portman, emphasizing that Jodi is "super beautiful" and has "super expressive eyes."
For those who don't know, Heart was born to Reynaldo Evangelista Ongpauco and Ma. Cecilia Payawal Ongpauco.
Meanwhile, Jodi and her brother Carlo were raised by their single mom, Mercedita Sta. Maria, though she kept her family life private, including the identity of her father.
