Oliver Moeller reveals meaning behind his tattoos

Oliver has tattoos that remind him of his German father and Filipino mother.

For It's Showtime's trending searchee Oliver Moeller, tattoo art is a form of self-expression.

The 32-year-old lawyer talks about his skin art during his official launch as the newest talent of Cornerstone Entertainment, the talent management headed by Erickson Raymundo and Jeff Vadillo.

The event is held at Kao Manila restaurant at Newport World Resorts on April 24, 2024.

OLIVER MOELLER'S TATTOOS IN HONOR OF HIS PARENTS

Oliver has a total of four tattoos, which he gamely shares the meaning of each one.

1. POSEIDON, GOD OF THE SEA

"It's actually the god of the sea, Poseidon," Oliver says to explain the most visible of all his tattoos covering his left biceps down to his forearm.

Talking about being influenced by his German father's love for the sea, he elaborates: "It's a tribute to my father who's a retired marine biologist."

Not only does he look up to his dad, Oliver is also proud to have come from a close-knit family.

He continues, "When I was younger, my father would take me and my young sisters to diving, so I fell in love with the sea, fell in love with water, which is why I took up swimming at a young age."

"And I still remember seeing photos of my dad. He attended a halloween party and he dressed up as Poseidon.

"So, when I decided, 'You know what, I wanna get a tattoo for myself,' and here it is, there was some pushback from my mom initially.

"But when they found out that it ended up looking pretty good and it was tribute to my dad, they love it now."

2. TRIBAL TATTOO

He also has a tattoo in honor of his Pinay mom, "On my shin, it's a Visayan tribal tattoo because I grew up in Cebu, my mom's Cebuana."

1. SHARK JAW

Oliver relates that he began thinking about the next designs, the ones on his right leg, as soon as he got his first tattoo.

"On my leg, I have four other tattoos. I decided that the tattoos on my legs would be more expressive of who I am as a person.

"I grew up, again, loving the sea, so I have a shark jaw on my knee.

"I have dinosaurs, skeletons and skulls on the right side of my calf because I used to grow up watching Jurassic Park, studying dinosaurs and stuff."

2. KOBE BRYANT TATTOO

Lastly, Oliver has a tattoo that seals his all-time admiration for the late NBA basketball legend Kobe Bryant.

Kobe, along with his 13-year-old-daughter Gianna, died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, on January 26, 2020.

Oliver says, "At the back [of my right leg] is actually Kobe Bryant who I grew up idolizing up to now."
