At 46, Sunshine Cruz remains a timeless beauty in the local entertainment industry, inspiring many to maintain a youthful appearance as they age.

While some fear the passage of time, Sunshine welcomes aging with an open heart and strives to do so gracefully.

"Maraming natatakot na mag-age, pero ako, ang goal ko lang talaga is to age gracefully," she said in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press.

The interview took place on April 30, 2024, during her launch as the newest brand ambassador of Thiocell.

Sunshine continued, explaining that this mindset is also why she does not see the need of using a "screen age," unlike some celebrities who try to hide their true age.

"Ang akala lang nila before—hindi naging question yung age ko, yung pangalan ko, akala nila fake name ko na Sunshine, bakit daw Sunshine? Yun.

"Pero sa age, never. I’ve always been proud of my age naman."

But just the smae, Sunshine is not spared by the bashers.

"Kaya nga minsan, di ba sa online, alam naman natin, [sinasabihan ako ng], 'ang tanda mo na...' Maraming ganon kaya.

"Oo, 'lola,' 'ang tanda mo na,' 'ganito ka na,' but it doesn’t matter, it doesn’t affect me."

How does she deal with these comments?

Sunshine answered, "Minsan, kapag bored ako, nagjo-joke na lang ako. Or minsan, dedma. Ganon na lang."

Sunshine is not unfazed.

"Sabi ko nga it’s a blessing. Aging is a blessing.

"Hindi lahat umaabot sa forty-six or forty-seven na healthy pa rin, syempre it’s a blessing to age.

"Kasi, nakakasama pa natin at makakasama pa natin nang mas matagal na panahon ang ating mga pamilya."
