PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) shared a video of the couple on its social media pages, and the comments were filled with pleasant surprise and delight, with many expressing their amazement at discovering their relationship.

Having been out of the spotlight for quite some time, Shintaro's impressive appearance has caught the attention of many.
Some even compare him to the late Christopher Reeve, the iconic actor known for portraying "Clark Kent" in the Superman movies.

On August 15, 2024, PEP caught up with Atty. Annette at Avignon Clinic's 5th anniversary dinner at The Conservatory of The Peninsula Manila Hotel in Makati City.
Seeing the surprised reactions on PEP's post, Atty. Annette quipped, "Oo nga, e, and to think, siya yung artista before, pero ako mas sikat ngayon. Di joke lang!"
Atty. Annette said it was her daughter Anja Abrogar who told her about the comments, even those who mentioned that her husband looks like "Clark Kent."
She recalled, "Nakita niya yun, e. Binabasa niya lahat ng comments. Sabi niya, 'Mom, it's positive!'"
Anja chimed in, "Everyone loves you guys and everyone thinks Shintaro looks so smart."
At this moment of the interview, Shintaro joined in and Atty. Annette mentioned to him, "Yung picture natin sa PEP, ang daming nagko-comment na Clark Kent ka daw."
With Atty. Annette and Shintaro both present, PEP inquired about the secret to their enduring relationship.
According to Atty. Annette, having God at the center of their relationship is key.
In her words, "Well, the secret is to center our relationship with God... With God at the center."
For his part, Shintaro, being a man of few words, added that "tolerance" is important from "both sides."

ANNETTE GOZON-VALDES: AGING GRACEFULLY
Meanwhile, PEP also had a quick beauty chat with Atty. Annette about aging gracefully.
At 52, Atty. Annette shared that she has never felt insecure about her age.
She explained, "Hindi naman. Kasi I think ang dali na i-research e, di ba? Mag-Google ka lang, alam mo na kung ilang taon yung mga tao.
"So, wala naman. I'm proud of my age."
For Atty. Annette, dedicated self-care is a must.
"At my age, napaka-importante kasi... Alam mo na, when you're growing older, you really have to take care of your skin.
"Para... you'll still try to preserve your age as much as possible, di ba?
"So, it's very important na regular skin regimen ang gagawin, especially when you're already in your 50s."
Regarding her beauty regimen, Atty. Annette not only follows a diligent skincare routine but also regularly visits derma clinics.
Her current favorite treatment is Avignon Clinic's Zaffiro, which employs cutting-edge water peeling and infrared technology to help her skin regain its youthful glow—leaving it plump, firm, and radiant.
"I like Zaffiro... Well, it brightens my skin. It lifts it. Basta, it has a glowing overall effect."
