Seven years since she tied the knot with art curator Norman Crisologo, Beauty Gonzalez has learned how to keep the fire burning in her marriage.
While she agrees with the saying, “Happy wife, happy life,” the Kapuso actress ensures that her husband is equally happy.
“I always believe that kasi a happy husband also is a happy life, too. You have to be happy together,” she explained in an interview at the presscon of Walang Matapang na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis Season 3 on December 14, 2024.
She told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “Siyempre importante happy ang wife mo kasi she is the one taking care of the house, taking care of everything in your life...
“But I also believe in balance, e. Kelangan happy din yung husband mo, kasi hardworking din siya, iniisip niya ang kapakanan ng pamilya mo.
“I think kelangan balanse,” she stressed.
BEAUTY GONZALEZ'S TIPS FOR A HAPPY MARRIED LIFE
She then enumerated the do's for a healthy relationship.
1. Make time for him.
“Dapat din alagaan mo yung asawa mo. Dapat pakinggan mo, bigyan mo ng oras.
“It doesn’t mean pagsilbihan mo na parang yaya. Kamustahin mo, pakinggan mo lang yung kuwento niya, hold his hand.”
2. Communicate with each other.
Beauty emphasized the necessity of having direct contact or communication with your husband.
3. Following the conventions is optional.
Cooking for the family and cleaning the house, she said, can easily be designated to househelp.
4. Don't forget romance.
She said sheepishly, “My advice is be a saint in the house, but be a wh*re in bed. That’s the secret to a good life.
“Totoo naman, e. You have to do that. It has to be balanced.”
As a married woman, Beauty appeared comfortable being vocal about this advice intended for married couples.
She said, “I’m married. Kahit sino naman diyan kung mag-asawa kayo, hindi naman puwedeng wife lang ang masaya at pinagsisilbihan mo.
“Pati yung asawa mong lalaki kailangan mong pakinggan, kailangan mong i-accept… kung anong mga pinagdadaanan niya sa life. Normal things…”

FILLING HER CUP
On the other hand, Beauty admitted she still has not let go of her apartment.
Keeping this personal space may mean extra expense, but the actress explained its vital role in keeping her independence and her personal space.
“You have to fill up your cup,” she said. “I have my alone time. I still have my apartment. I still have my place.
“I’ve never let go of it because I believe you should have your own place.”
Beauty let on about feeling lucky she could afford a place of her own, and to those who can't, she said they can improvise having their me-time, such as going alone on a trip or going to a spa.
“Importante talaga that you give time to yourself, and to your family, and to your friends.”
She said that having her personal space has been a form of therapy for her, especially “pag tinotopak ako.”
She added, “At hindi iyan kinukuwestiyon ng asawa ko. Kailangan iyan.”
Beauty said she she'd call her husband to pick her up when she'd feel whole again.
