Nico Bolzico may be portraying a “bullied husband” on social media, but in real life, he’s a sharp businessman who knows his numbers.

His brother-in-law, Erwan Heussaff, mentioned this during Nico’s launch as the latest addition to Security Bank’s roster of endorsers late last year.

Erwan shared, "Spreadsheets get him excited. He's one of those people...

"So when it comes to using and working with the bank at its best capacity for the businesses that we put up together, he's been very pivotal in understanding that—when it comes to Forex and all those things on a corporate level.

"So he's not just a pretty face. That's what I was going to say.

"Behind that pretty face. He's so special..."

Almost blushing, Nico responded, "Guys, that's a big compliment...this never happened.

"My brother never complimented me. So I'm like so touched today."

But that wasn’t the only thing that made Nico gush that day.

Security Bank held a media launch in his honor.

Erwan, who has been the bank’s endorser for 12 years, quipped, "I never had a signing event, so you must be really special.

"Like, I feel like a lot of this is about you, which is fantastic.

"So welcome, Nico, to the family.”

Erwan’s sister and Nico’s wife, Solenn Heussaff, has also been a Security Bank endorser since 2021, during the pandemic period.

The Kapuso actress-artist revealed, "Actually, even before that, Erwan had convinced me to join Security Bank because I had lots of complaints. I will not mention the other banks...

"And, you know, I've really witnessed firsthand how dedicated they are to providing their customers with great products and great services.

"Every year, they have an amazing announcement, just like this year.

"So basically, the better announcement is not [just] better banking, it's [about] my better husband next to my side.”

Bolstered by his wife and brother-in-law’s words, Nico joked:

“I feel more important than my wife and my brother-in-law.

"I am Nico Bolzico, but I'm also Solenn's husband, and Solenn comes with a package.

“So I'm also Erwan's brother-in-law.

"So it's been great. I'm actually the face of better banking.

"I think your previous ambassadors were good, but they were a bit boring probably, that's why I'm here today.

"I made the boss laugh so many times today. That's great."

The audience erupted in laughter at his playful remarks.

ERWAN, SOLENN, AND NICO’S MOBILE-APP EXPERIENCES

The trio went on to discuss their past banking problems, such as not being able to block a compromised card or waiting endlessly for an OTP (One-Time Password).

They also raved about Security Bank’s new app, highlighting its improved features.

BLOCKING AND UNBLOCKING CARDS

Nico shared, “One of the best things with the new app is if I lose my credit card, I can block it.

"That's very, very important because I lose it or misplace it two to three times every time we travel."

Solenn remembered one incident while they were abroad.

“It happened a long time ago…He canceled mine one time, so we were left credit-cardless...and he had made a mistake.”

Erwan rounded off the story about his brother-in-law:

"All the credit cards actually have e-commerce protection. Nico tends to fall for online scams all the time...

"I remember last time we were in France, he tried to buy tickets back to Manila…”

Solenn interrupted, “With my credit card.”

Erwan continued, “…from a fake Qatar Airways website.”

Nico chimed in, “They [scammers] were very smart, by the way.”

Erwan concluded, “Because there was a sponsored link on Google, which everyone knows not to press...”

But Nico clicked it.

With Security Bank’s new app, blocking the card can now be done instantly, preventing any unauthorized transactions.

Solenn remarked, “At least now, when that happens again, we can just block it right away instead of having to fly back to Manila.”

OTP WITHOUT WI-FI

Solenn also talked about the stress of dealing with One-Time Password (OTP), a helpful layer of security for cards and accounts.

She said, “OTP, you can be in a place with Wi-Fi and feel like you got the world under control, but the moment you pay someone or purchase something, and then you’re like sending OTP and resend and resend and resend, and it never comes.”

Erwan agreed:

“I hate OTPs. Especially when I travel a lot, I find myself in places like Kalinga where networks aren't amazing. Someone texts me saying, ‘Hey, you need to pay this,’ but I can't because I can’t receive an OTP."

According to the bank’s website, the new app can generate an offline OTP.

Here’s how:

“In case your device is offline, you may select the ‘Generate Soft Token’ screen on the login screen of the application.

“Just provide your transaction pin, and a soft token will be generated for you to use when making transactions through the website.”

SEAMLESS AND EFFORTLESS BANKING

For businessmen like Erwan, the app acts like an efficient assistant.

"I do all my payroll on my phone, which is fantastic. I do my payroll bi-monthly on there, and I kind of auto-organize that on there as well."

Erwan owns The Fat Kid Inside Studios, which is into production and publishing. He also has a 500-square-meter studio for shoots.

He gave the app’s real-time transaction tracking a thumb's up:

"One key thing for retail specifically is being able to see real-time or instant transactions.

"Before, I had to wait till the end of the month for a bank statement to consolidate all online purchases.

"To be able to see those transactions as you make them makes budgeting so much easier.”

eGIVE CASH

Nico highlighted the eGiveCash feature, which allows depositors to send money online or via ATM, even to recipients without a bank account.

He explained, “With eGiveCash, you can send money to everyone without them needing an ATM card or a bank account.

“And I think that makes the app accessible to absolutely everyone in the Philippines.”

Most of all, even for non-tech-savvy clients like Solenn, the app is easy to use.

Erwan added, “It’s really fast to set up. When I downloaded the app for the first time, it took me maybe three minutes to get full access.”

Myra Untalan, Security Bank Corp.’s senior vice president and retail channel head, summed it up:

“We have redesigned our online banking platforms from the ground up to overcome the limitations of our old systems.

“We wanted to give our customers better accessibility, better security, and an overall better banking app experience.”
