Julia Barretto is proud to see her sister Dani Barretto thriving as a successful businesswoman.
Julia shared her admiration during the launch of three new products from Wellness Whispers, Dani's wellness and lifestyle drink brand, on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Whitespace Events Place in Makati City.
"Well, it's been really joyous, really," Julia told the press including PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview at the event.
She continued, "I mean her success, I feel like, is everybody's success in the family. That's just our dynamic. We root for each other. We support each other. We motivate and encourage each other.
"So just to see her in the position that she is in career and in life and in love, di ba? I mean, it's something that we all celebrate as a family, as a unit."
JULIA BARRETTO-DANI BARRETTO: NO SIBLING RIVALRY
Dani and Julia have consistently supported each other as siblings. To some, the relationship among Dani, Julia, and their other siblings might seem almost too ideal.
However, Julia and Dani affirm that there is no sibling rivalry between them.
Dani said, "Parang lumaki na kami na wala kaming ganyan. I think yung pagpapalaki sa amin ng mom ko is just to have each other's back.
"I mean, some people might, they think actually hindi totoo yung relationship namin sa sobrang too good to be true.
"Pero totoo, we're best friends. My siblings are my best friends.
"They know everything in my life, even before everything is done. So, parang ako, I cannot imagine life without them.
"So, parang I think that's why this works. It's because we support each other, whatever career or field we choose to take."
Building on Dani's words, Julia pointed out that their mother deserves recognition for raising them in a way that they would not see each other as rivals.
Julia told the press, "Parang si mommy din really wasn't the type when we were growing up that she would compare us to each other.
"There was never like pitting her kids to each other. There was just no energy like that.
"So, when you're a kid and nobody plants that in your head, it just sticks with you. And you grow up with that kind of thinking.
"She was really, really specific about, you know, growing up like having each other's back."
SISTERLY COLLAB
Julia mentioned that she and her siblings never allowed negativity to get in the way of their relationship. Instead, they chose to learn from one another.
When asked about a business lesson she learned from her sister, Julia replied that it's the importance of not giving up easily.
This is especially important for Julia, who also runs her own business, the Juju Club.
She expounded, "You know, with the Juju Club and then seeing how she was able to do this for her brand, it really is motivating, you know.
"Given na there will be challenges and that not every day is going to be flowery and perfect, but the example that she's setting for us, it's parang you just can't give up right now, di ba?
"Parang it's doable, it's possible, and she's been such an inspiration to all of us."
Dani, reflecting Julia's approach, also prefers to team up and learn collaboratively. In fact, she has already considered a brand collaboration with the Juju Club.
Dani expressed, "I've always told her that. Sabi ko, I wanted to create something that she, talaga, yung gusto niyang gawin.
"Mayroon ba siyang variant na gustong gawin? And that's something that, you know, I've been telling her. That's something na sana we can work on this year. We'll see."
With the Juju Club x Wellness Whispers collaboration still in the proposal stage, Dani and Julia are focused on launching their new project, a content creator hub called Spritz Studio.
Julia shared, "So, again, this is her vision. And then I heard it and I said, you know what, can I be on board?
"Kasi, you know, Dani really is you know, like, go-getter. You're very visionary. You really wanna be a part of the vision. So, I'm just really glad that we're doing this together."
Building on Julia's enthusiasm, Dani mentioned, "May business kaming dalawa na maglo-launch din very soon.
"It's gonna be a creative space for everybody. It's absolutely a space where you can, you know, hold your shoots, your events, your workshops, your interviews.
"It's actually a space that's going to be, like, transported to anything that you want it to be. Wedding, studio... Multi-purpose events place.
"Ito, ang pinakaiba namin is we designed it talaga, na alam niyong amin yun. And alam niyo that it's a space na puwede... you'll feel welcome. Ganun yung ginawa naming itsura talaga."
