The popularity of online casinos and gaming platforms has surged, offering users a fun and accessible escape.

However, it's important to remember that these platforms should serve as a form of entertainment, not a dependable path to financial independence.

This principle aligns with PlayTime's mission to promote responsible gaming among its users.

During the launch of PlayTime's Ultimate 100 Cars Giveaway of 2025 on February 21, 2024, at Green Sun in Makati City, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) spoke with Kat Maramba and Jay Sabale, the company’s PR Managers, about their efforts to communicate this message to the public.

Kat shared, "Every week or almost every day kasi we post by our socmed, social media accounts, on how to be a responsible gamer.

"As we've mentioned a while ago, we are marketing our brand as a fun and entertaining brand.

"So, for example, kung wala tayong ginagawa, nasa biyahe ka or nasa CR lang, puwede ka maglaro ng PlayTime."

She emphasized that the goal is to enjoy, not to earn.

"Huwag mo siyang gagawing source of financial freedom.

"Parang, 'Okay, pag nanalo ako dito, ito ikakayaman ko. Last 200 pesos ko na ito, ilalaro ko pa.' Hindi yun yung responsible gaming.

"Kasi coming from the word gaming, it's a game plan. It's not going to be a source of livelihood for you.

"A source of livelihood is something na nakukuha sa sipag at tiyaga. And it's not through a game."

She also cautioned players about spending: "Kung meron kang pera, huwag lahat ibuhos mo."

Jay echoed Kat’s statement, stressing that PlayTime is "an entertainment and gaming platform" rather than a means to financial success.

Their promotional materials focus on fun, not on promising riches or a better life.

Jay clarified, "So we do not advertise to people that, 'Hey, taya kayo ng ganitong amount or 20 pesos, puwede kayo maging milyonaryo.'

"We never do that because, yun nga, entertainment kami, pampalipas-oras kami, pang-enjoy niyo lang kami."

"So hindi natin siya mina-market as 'sagot sa kahirapan.’"

What's their target market?

Jay revealed that more Filipinos aged 21 to 30 are now using the app, though he noted that this may be purely incidental.

"Nangyayari lang talaga na nadi-discover kami and kanina, prinesent naman ni Ms. Kat that we are all over the place.

"We are sponsoring concerts. We are sponsoring different CSRs, and in fact, meron pa kami yung upcoming [events]...

"So, very diverse activities namin and nagkakataon lang po na nakukuha namin yung age group na yun.

"But, of course, since 21 years old and above na puwede maglaro, napi-filter naman namin na hindi pwede bumaba pa doon sa edad na yun."

PLAYTIME: 100-CAR GIVEAWAY

Meanwhile, Jay and Kat were excited to unveil their latest campaign, which will reward lucky users with a total of 100 cars.

PlayTime plans to give away a specific number of cars each time its Facebook page reaches a milestone in follower count.

Jay explained, "Once the follower count reaches the specified target, we will raffle off a corresponding number of cars in a live broadcast.

"Actually, nasa 1.1 million na kami, so mamimigay na kami sigurado ng isang kotse. Once we reach 1.5 million, tatlong kotse ang aming ipamimigay.

"Three million followers, limang kotse ang ipamimigay. Five million followers, sampung kotse naman ang ipamimigay."

As of March 1, 2024, PlayTime's Facebook page has amassed 1.3 million followers—just 200,000 shy of unlocking three cars for the giveaway.

But will all the winners receive red cars?

Jay answered, "Well, we listen to our audience or to our subscribers.

"So kung kunyare magkaroon ng tao or kung anong gustong kulay nila, puwede namin sila sundin or kung gusto nilang kulay pula lang, puwede rin.

"So, depende po iyan sa magiging, let's say, feedback ng mga sasali at ng mga subscribers namin."
