ENZO's Early Creative Spark

Long before his name started appearing in galleries, Enzo’s journey into the arts began at home.

He was seven years old when he manifested an interest in film.

Growing up in what can be called a lively household, he and his sister Katrina—along with their cousins—starred in mini movies that their mom would edit on iMovie.

These playful home videos turned out to not just be fun family moments but the seeds of his storytelling.

ENZO FINDS His Beat and the "Fur On Fire" Era

Enzo’s creative journey wasn’t limited to film—music played a big role as well.

During high school, he was an avid drummer, performing at Battle of the Band events with schoolmates until 2013, when he left for college.

This early love for music not only fueled his performances but influenced his visual art.

He said as much in a podcast interview, “I think the most successful images are the ones you can hear.”

Even before those high-energy performances, Enzo’s passion for storytelling had become evident.

His early film productions, under Fur On Fire, dated back to his eighth-grade days. The quirky moniker perfectly captured the spirit of his young experiments.

Fast forward to October 2017, his first exhibit in Makati which he titled Fur On Fire And The Children Of The Corn.

The show marked a milestone, transforming a curious kid with a love for mini movies into a recognized artist ready to take on the world.

One of Enzo’s more memorable projects was his second solo exhibit, titled Songs, at Leon Art Gallery International, held December 14, 2021 to January 4, 2022.

Imagine a room featuring a montage of huge photographs of stunning landscapes, vocal cords, throats, and tongues overlaid with song lyrics.

This project wasn’t just a display of images but a playful experience of visual art evoking the energy of music, perfectly reflecting Enzo’s early days as a drummer and his love for dynamic, multimedia storytelling.

From Emerson College to Today

To sharpen his craft, Enzo headed to Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts—a premier liberal arts institution known for its focus on communication and the arts.

His time at Emerson helped him polish his technical skills and expand his creative horizons, blending academic rigor with his natural artistic instincts.

The lessons he learned there continue to resonate in his work today, fueling projects that are both innovative and deeply personal.

After college, he returned to the Philippines and, along with photographer Gio Panlilio and producer Dinesh Mohnani, he founded Tarzeer Pictures, a Manila-based gallery and creative production group.

As the creative director, Enzo leads a team that produces editorial videos and documentaries.

Tarzeer Pictures is seen as a catalyst for the Filipino creative scene, offering a platform where new ideas and bold visuals come together to redefine the local art landscape.

The Razon Legacy

Of course, one cannot talk about the artist without mentioning his family name.

Enzo is the only son of Enrique K. Razon Jr., a name synonymous with big business in the Philippines.

Enrique is a Filipino billionaire and a business powerhouse with a diverse portfolio.

As chairman of ICTSI, he built a global shipping empire, while his ventures in property development and hospitality, through his Bloomberry Resorts Corporation, have reshaped the gaming scene with projects like Solaire Resort & Casino.

He also holds a significant stake in Manila Water, broadening his influence in the country’s infrastructure.

Beyond these ventures, Razon’s efforts to build a mega vaccination site during the pandemic and his ventures into renewable energy and port expansions highlight his leadership in multiple industries.

Then there’s Enzo’s mom, Lizzy Santos Razon, who serves as board member of the Child Protection Network.

She has been a champion for the rights of abused children and women, and has rolled up her sleeves to lead relief operations and to provide housing.

From those early home movies to impressive exhibitions and collaborative projects, Enzo has continuously redefined what it means to be a Filipino artist.

As he pushes creative boundaries with each new work, his art resonates with the vibrant spirit of contemporary Filipino culture, inspiring a new generation of creative minds.
