At long last, South Korean superstar Hyun Bin has made his way to the Philippines to meet his fans.
The Crash Landing On You star was in the country for a special meet and greet with lucky fans, hosted by Solaire Resort, on August 8, 2025.
Before meeting his eager fans on stage, Hyun Bin took part in a quick Q&A session with the local media.
Speaking through a translator, Hyun Bin began: "First and foremost, thank you so much for the warm welcome for me... for visiting here in the Philippines.
"Thank you so much as well for filling up this venue despite all of your schedules. Thank you so much for coming a long way to fill this venue tonight.
"The Philippines has always in my list to visit, to always visit."
What was his first impression of the country?
"The way they have welcomed me here in the Philippines is really, really heartwarming.
"It's more amazing than I expected."
Hyun Bin added, "What I'm really surprised about... one thing that I'm really surprised about is, you know, the warm hospitality of how they welcomed me in the Philippines.
"And, of course, the bright energy that I have witnessed."
Hyun Bin did not forget thanking Solaire: "When I first arrived at Solaire, I was so surprised by the scale of Solaire, and I felt that it was very classy and sophisticated.
"Of course, the luxury and the prestige vibe that I have witnessed here in Solaire, I was really surprised with it.
"And also another thing that I was surprised about are the staff of Solaire as well, how detailed they are with welcoming guests. That's what I was also surprised about."
He continued: "And, of course, we cannot forget to talk about the room as well.
"When I first entered it, I was really surprised about the view that I have with the room. And, of course, it was very comfy."
"And it was a private space, so with this luxurious and comfortable room, I was able to have a good time. And I was able to have a very good relaxing break."
Additionally, Hyun Bin shared his delight in trying Filipino food during his visit.
"We also had a meal, it was very delicious and amazing.
"I got a suggestion, a recommendation for Filipino food, which was adobo. It was very delicious and I enjoyed it."
Q&A WITH HYUN BIN
During the press conference, Hyun Bin responded to pre-selected questions from the media, offering insights into his career reflections, fashion preferences, and his reaction to the enthusiastic support of his Filipino fans.
Below were all the questions asked at the press conference, along with Hyun Bin’s answers:
Question: What can you say about the support Filipino fans have given you throughout your years as an actor, whether in films or television series?
Hyun Bin: "No words can explain how I feel. I'm very speechless about the amount of love and support I receive.
"And, of course, I'm very grateful, very thankful for all the love and support and that becomes my strength to become a better actor as well.
"And so in each and every project, the love and support that the fans give me is definitely going to be a strength for all of my career."
Question: What are your top three fashion must-haves that you always make sure to bring when traveling?
Hyun Bin: "Well, of course, I have the watch on, and I have sunglasses, and lastly, would be the cap that I brought."
Question: If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self when you were first starting out as an actor, what would it be?
Hyun Bin: "You can still enjoy in that moment. That's one message I want to tell myself back in the past.
"Now that I'm looking back at whatever was happening, I've only been going straight not minding whatever is on my side, but really focusing on the work.
"So, I really don't have time to look around and enjoy whatever sceneries that I can I can enjoy.
"So, if I were to tell myself in the past I want to tell him to enjoy the moment and enjoy the crowd, the surroundings, rather than just going forward or towards your goal."
Question: Do you still have a dream role?
Hyun Bin: "I can say that there are roles that I haven't tried, and the roles that I have tried. The roles that I didn't try yet are the roles that I want to be challenged with and of course try."
Question: Many international fans connect with your work even without speaking Korean, what is it about Korean storytelling or your way of acting that breaks the language and cultural barriers?
Hyun Bin: "You know, when it comes to Korean storytelling, I think it's because the fans or the people who's watching is really interested and they're really fond of watching the storytelling.
"And of course that is the video side where all the staff are really working hard to give the masterpiece of art.
"And of course on top of that is the director who would produce the storytelling.
"And I am just an actor who is just portraying, just playing the role with sincerity to put out the storytelling to the people who's watching.
"So that's how I think about the Korean storytelling."
Question: If you could secretly swap places with any character from a K-drama, even just for a day, who would it be and why?
Hyun Bin: "Of course I have, to choose from the characters I have played, so I would like to choose the Kim Joo Won act of Secret Garden.
"The character has a very spectacular life, a roller-coaster life, so I want to try living that life as well."
Question: You've traveled for many projects, but is there a travel habit, ritual, or item you always bring with you, maybe even now in the Philippines, that fans might be surprised to learn about you?
Hyun Bin: "I always take supplements. You know, the vitamins, the supplements, I always take it.
"And if I don't have any special schedules or hectic schedules, I always make sure that I perspire, I sweat, I go and work out before going to work.
"And there's really nothing that is surprising for me to tell you. And for sure, for this time, I brought supplements too."
Question: If you could direct a film of your own, what kind of movie would you like to create?
Hyun Bin: "You know, I really never thought about myself producing or thinking about this question, but if I were given the opportunity, then I want to have something with a plot twist.
"Something that is really unexpected, kind of, producing. It's something I want to try."
Question: This is your first visit to the Philippines, and you chose to stay at Solaire Resort. What aspects of Solaire stood out to you or left a lasting impression?
Hyun Bin: "What I thought about Solaire Resort, it's more than just an ordinary resort, but it's a place that we can make experiences or make memories.
"I wanted to let more people know about the Solaire Resort where it's a place for people to experience as well and also witness this kind of amazing things about Solaire Resort."
HYUN BIN'S MESSAGE TO FILIPINO FANS
As the press conference came to an end, Hyun Bin left this message for his Filipino fans.
"The unconditional and unchanging love and support that I receive from Filipino fans, I'm really really grateful and honored to have this kind of support.
"And with that love, I would like to return it back to the Filipino fans with more project, and of course, a better actor as well.
"So, thank you, thank you so much for all your love and support."
