Jenny Miller believes age should never hold anyone back from chasing new dreams.
At 45, she never imagined she would manage a skin-care brand — yet on August 21, 2025, she officially relaunched Recherché Essentials, this time as the company’s CEO.
"This launch isn’t just about beauty," Jenny said during the event held at Okada Manila.
"It’s about starting my journey as an entrepreneur and empowering others through confidence."
Jenny officially joined the company in 2023 after a friend reached out with an offer to lead the team.
“In-offer ito sa akin years ago by our chairman, my friend Paul Zobel," she recalled in an interview with select members of the press, including PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
Jenny didn’t say yes to the offer immediately, admitting she might not be qualified due to her lack of experience in a corporate setting.
"At first, of course, sobrang, 'Wait lang, ha, give me time,' sabi ko sa kanya kasi ano ako sa acting, di ba?
"Saka sabi ko, Hindi ko alam [ang gagawin]. Kasi for like 22 years or 21, TV lang, TV and movies ako. So wala akong idea sa corporate world."
But eventually, she accepted the offer, trusting his support.
"Sabi nya, 'Don't worry, I'll guide you. I'll give, yung team na makakasama mo, tutulong sayo. But I want you to lead.' Sabi niyang ganun.
"So parang like months iniisip ko siya, and then sabi ko, 'Sige, I'm ready.'"

JENNY MILLER: BEHIND RECHERCHÉ
Why "Recherché"?
The website explains the name: "Recherché," a French word that means "carefully sought out" or "chosen with great care," encapsulates the brand’s thoughtful and meticulous approach to product development.
Jenny said the name existed before she joined the company. There were suggestions to rebrand, but they decided to keep it.
She told PEP and the press, "Actually, maraming kumontra, ang hirap ng recall, ang hirap i-pronounce, kahit ako noon.
"Sabi niya hindi, French iyan, gusto niya kasi luxurious pakinggan. Sabi ko, ‘Ah okay.’ Siyempre premium brands tayo na local."

Jenny said she took a very hands-on role with the skin-care line.
For the relaunch, she personally oversaw the formulation of the four-step rejuvenating set—also available in a travel-size pack—which were formulated and manufactured in China.
She and her team tested the products to make sure they work on Filipino skin.
"Nag-start yung research and everything last year. So ngayon lang namin ni-launch yung product.
"Talagang triny namin siya. Best siya kasi sa mga Asian na skin types.
"Marami kaming nag-test nitong products na ito like, oily skin... Yun nga, kaya nga sinabi namin, e, yung mga dry skin, all skin types, kaya niya, e."
Is this a networking business?
"Hindi ito siya networking," Jenny replied.
They do offer an optional membership programs for extra perks like discounts and raffle entries.
At present, they are raffling off a brand-new Tesla.
"Membership lang para additional perks like the discounts and all.
"No need to recruit, walang ganoon. Wala kaming ganoon as in. We are selling the products, we are selling it by set."
She added: "The full skin-care set you have it tapos insured ka pa worth 170,000 pesos.
"You have a raffle entry, sa Tesla raffle namin."
The membership prices will change once the new products, formulated in Japan and Korea, are launched later this year.
JENNY MILLER: FROM SHOWBIZ TO BUSINESS
As she shared her experience as a businesswoman, PEP asked Jenny about the biggest challenge she has faced so far.
In her words, "Mahirap pala kung iko-compare mo sa acting.
"Sa acting kase, nagpo-portray ka ng mga roles, di ba, characters ganyan, ganyan. After that, tapos, di ba? Uwi ka. Normal lang.
"Dito, I need to lead people, like my team. So ako mismo, dapat ako yung makitaan nila ng motivation na kaya namin itayo itong business nito.
"Sa reality, sobrang mahirap pala. Pero nakakatuwa kasi tsina-challenge ko yung self ko na, 'Kaya mo iyan.'
"Pinasok mo iyan, e, di ba, o pinaninindigan namin."
Despite the challenges, Jenny encourages fellow celebrities to start a business as soon as they begin earning, saying that showbiz is unpredictable and not permanent.
"Sa mga artistang katulad ko, magnegosyo tayo.
"Kasi wag nating asahan din ang showbiz unless nandiyan ka, ikaw yung blockbuster queen ngayon or whatever, di ba?
"Kaya lang kasi, for me, ha, hindi naman kasi siya regular. I mean regular na trabaho na may regular income ka. Tapos, per project basis.
"Eto kasi, when you have business, tuluy-tuloy lang ito, e, basta hands-on ka, basta tutok ka, and alam mo kung paano i-market yung products mo."
