David Licauco is proving once again that he really is a man of many hats.

In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on August 23, 2025, the Kapuso leading man revealed that his recent trip to Siargao wasn’t purely for rest and relaxation.

While the island served as a much-needed escape before he returned to the grind of Pilipinas United 3x3 games and taping for the action-packed Kapuso series Never Say Die, David said he also used the visit to scout locations for a villa that he is planning to build.

When asked why he chose Siargao for his planned villa, David said he fell in love with the island's laid-back way of life.

"I love Siargao. I think the culture there is very much different from, from Boracay, I think. You know, nagulat ako yung mga tao doon are very friendly.

"They're very in touch with, with life, you know, na parang nung nandun ako, medyo napa-party talaga tayo, e, di ba? Wala lang, I'm just enjoying my life."

David added that ongoing improvement plans for the island's airport also convinced him to invest in property there.

"So ngayon, maglalagay kasi ng airport.

"So, that gave me the idea na, 'O, magde-develop pa ito, di ba?

"Kung tignan natin yung Bohol, maraming Koreans dahil meron na silang international flight from Korea, di ba?

"So hopefully, magkaroon din ganun si Siargao.

"And siyempre pag mas malaking airport, mas bago, e, di mas maraming makakapunta, di ba? So, yun yung decision making ko talaga."

David is also moving forward with the expansion for his restaurant Sobra, opening a branch in Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

He revealed that this move has long been part of his plans after launching the first outlet in Alabang, Muntinlupa.

So yun, marami ang nagre-request, e, kaya doon tayo maglalagay.

"Maganda yung puwesto natin, malapit doon sa ano, yung sa cinema doon, yung Cinema 76. Malaki na siya."

DAVID LICAUCO: FOR HIS FUTURE FAMILY

With business, acting, and basketball all crowding his packed schedule, how does he keep it all going?

David mentioned a time-blocking system, focusing on one task at a time.

He elaborated: "Kasi di ba sinasabi nila yung take it day by day?

"For me, I take it hour by hour na parang, you know, this part of my day, naka-time block siya for business, and then mag-workout, and then, pag-a-artista, endorsement shoots.

"And ngayon, gusto kong gumawa ng villa, di ba? So it's just different."

The most important thing is he loves what he does.

When things get overwhelming, he reminds himself of his main motivation: preparing for his future family.

"Kung paminsan, nakakapagod, di ba? Pero, yeah, I just have to remember why I'm doing this di ba?

"I just want to make my future family comfortable and happy."

Does he have a timeframe for building a family?

So, tao pa rin ako.

"So, kahit anumang mangyari, andoon pa rin ako.

But is he dating?

David dodged the question with a grin, "What date is it today? It's August 23?"

When asked if the right partner is hard to find, he teased, "Kailangan mo na sumisid," then cracked, "Di, joke lang!"

He grew earnest after, saying the right person will arrive at the perfect time.

"You just have to, you know, live your life," David said.
