Aniya, “Things looked promising for a while, but in July we got the bad news: no funding.”

EMPLOYEE WAS ASKED TO RESIGN

“In those 15 years, I hardly gave more than one or two interviews.

“I stayed because I was comfortable, strong in my work, and always had new challenges.

“As a software engineer, I wore many hats and delivered results whenever trusted. Recognition was rare, but I tolerated it... until now.”

Hard Lessons Learned After Staying Too Long in One Job

Ang masakit nga lang: “I’ve applied to 60–70 roles with little response.

“A few rejections gave me hope that my profile is at least being seen, but overall, the silence is tough.”

LESSONS LEARNED BY EMPLOYEE FOR STICKING IT TOO LONG IN ONE COMPANY

  1. You are always replaceable; performance alone is not enough, business matters more.
  2. Do not stay too long in one place; comfort is a trap.
  3. Keep open communication with managers and teammates about the company’s direction.
  4. Never stop trying new things; discomfort keeps you relevant.
  5. Work hard only if you are happy and still growing; otherwise, reconsider.
  6. Keep interviewing occasionally to know your worth and market trends.
  7. Document your work outside the company (achievements, outcomes, learnings).
  8. Update your CV and LinkedIn every 6–12 months.
  9. Build and maintain a network; it pays off later.
  10. Apply both for good fits and “stretch” roles; even rejections provide practice.
  11. Always ask for feedback after interviews.
  12. Remember: your job is not your identity.

Nananatili rin siyang positibo.

Aniya, “But I believe these tactics are worth applying.”

Nakakaramdam kaya siya ng panic?

“I’m staying calm and focused.”

“But I fight it and move on. My better half has been incredibly supportive, which helps me stay grounded.”

NETIZENS EMPHATIZE WITH EMPLOYEE

Sa huling bahagi ng kanyang post ay nagtanong ang Redditor sa netizens: “For those who’ve been through something similar, how did you stay motivated and eventually succeed in landing your next role?”

Ayon sa isang nag-reply: “I am 44 and facing similar situation in finance field. So, no field is immune.

“Current year is tough. Most companies are under pressure and not hiring.”

May isang nagbigay ng paalala: “Just remember that even Steve Jobs got replaced from Apple.

“Everyone is replaceable. There is no comfort zone. Just a stagnant zone.

“Your job is a means to what you want to achieve, it’s not your identity.”

At sakali umanong makakitang muli ng trabaho ang Redditor: “Don’t get too attached to it.”
