For Belle Mariano, self-care is more than a practice, it’s a way of life.
In a conversation with members of the press, including PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), during The Hygiene Hangout by Sanicare on November 15, 2025, at Sevenscape Events Place in San Juan City, Belle talked about the simple habits and routines that help her deal with daily pressures.
How Belle Mariano Powers Her Day
It begins with having enough rest.
“I try to sleep as much as I can. Kahit sa kotse po, matutulog ako,” she said.
The Kapamilya actress fondly remembered her parents’ insistence on afternoon naps when she was a child, a habit she didn’t always enjoy but now appreciates.
“Matulog, matulog! Hindi ko maintindihan,” she said, laughing.
“As I grow older, mas naintindihan ko na kailangan talaga natin ng tulog to recharge. Sleep is really important because that's how you recharge.”
But what sets the tone for her day? Having time for slow, intentional mornings.
“Kahit gaano kaaga pa yung call time ko, nag-a-allot po talaga ako ng two hours lang or kahit one hour lang para lang mag-unwind sa umaga po.
“And I feel like kapag naggaganun ako, kapag nagkakaroon ako ng oras po sa umaga, parang feeling ko, may energy na ako buong araw.”
Another must-have for her is: “Kahit thirty minutes lang, kailangan kong mag-coffee talaga.”
Belle also emphasized the importance of hygiene.
“Don't forget to take care of yourself too, di ba, and take care of your hygiene. And I feel like once you take care of yourself, you're gonna be able to take care of others, too.”
And she sees to it that she passes this lesson on to her younger sister.
“Like I try to teach her the proper hygiene like just as how my mom taught me growing up, too.
“Makikay kaming babae, e. We just do our make-up together. We do our nails together, or spa together, and that for me is taking care of yourself, thus, hygiene.”

HOW BELLE MARIANO DEALS WITH STRESS
What does she do when she’s having a bad day?
“Sometimes, yes, it gets really overwhelming too, di ba?” she admitted.
To manage stress, she turns to hobbies like painting or late-night workouts.
“I make sure before I sleep, wala akong iniisip na problema… Kailangan ko siya i-release whether, you know, through doing a hobby of mine such as painting or minsan magwo-workout ako kahit gabing-gabi.
"You know, as long as ma-release ko lang yung stress. Ganun po yung ginagawa ko para mag-unwind.”
BELLE MARIANO ON SELF-CARE
"Self-care is not selfish."
She lives by this simple guiding principle: "Parang feeling ko, kailangan mo lang talaga ng mag-allot ng energy sa sarili mo, mag-allot ng time sa sarili mo para makapag-allot ka and makapag-provide ka sa mga taong mahal mo sa buhay nang mas maganda,
“Kapag maganda yung trato mo sa sarili mo, mas maganda yung pagtrato mo sa iba.”
When PEP asked what advice she would give young people trying to establish their own self-care routines, Belle replied, “Hala. Kailangan ko rin po ng advice. Hindi rin naman po ako perfect.”
She added a gentle reminder: not to be too hard on yourself.
“Don't pressure yourself to be perfect. Siguro yun. That's a form of self-care. Taking, accepting yourself for who you are.
'“There's always room to grow and that, for me, is a form of self-care, acknowledging your strengths and your weaknesses and, you know, surpassing all your fears and just believing in yourself and just taking the time to just unwind and that's okay.
"It's completely okay to not do anything.”
