Queenie Pacquiao, 17, will soon leave for college in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States of America.

In May this year, the daughter of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee graduated from senior high school at Brent International School Manila, a well-known school located in southern Metro Manila.

“Bittersweet. I’m gonna miss my friends, but I’m excited for college,” she answered when asked about her high-school graduation.

Queenie's interview with Dyan Castillejo was uploaded on the latter’s YouTube channel on June 12, 2026.

She revealed going to Loyola University Chicago (LUC), one of the biggest Roman Catholic universities in the U.S. that was founded in 1870.

“I think the campus is nice, and they say the people are nice there, too. And I really just wanna visit, like, go there for the city.”

Asked about course she will be taking up, Queenie replied, "Forensic Science."

Why?

She answered with a smile: “I don’t know how I reached that point. I generally was just looking around the courses, what course I could take…”

Dyan then mentioned that Queenie had previously told her she intended to take up law.

Manny’s daughter explained why she eventually changed her mind.

“[A]fter this year, I was like I don’t know if I could do law. I’d rather do something in the sciences, so I might as well do something in forensic science.”

In the LUC website, it stated that B.S. Forensic Science “focuses heavily on natural and physical sciences, which prepares students for a variety of forensic science and related careers.”

The site also detailed the program content of the curriculum.

“The Forensic Science Program curriculum, by its very nature, includes sensitive topics such as drug overdose, drug-facilitated sexual assault, sexual violence, domestic violence, postmortem forensic toxicology, homicides, and other violent crime.”

It was noted that the faculty are highly capable and well-equipped, both in knowledge and in the proper approach, to handle these sensitive subjects and to effectively guide and teach the students.

Queenie revealed that she hopes to start school in late August this year.

She will be staying in a dorm and expects her parents to help her move in.

She plans to return to the Philippines during short breaks and vacations, such as the holidays and summer break.

Netizens took notice that the daughter of a billionaire was shopping for second-hand items.

“My friends invited me and they were like, ‘We’re going… to this ukay-ukay place,’ and I was like, ‘Why not? Let’s go, I don’t mind.’

“We’re playing softball that morning so I was like, ‘Might as well just come…’

“So then we went to train and then afterwards, we went to ukay-ukay.

“I bought a lot of stuff, actually.”

Since she can obviously afford branded items, she was asked whether the items she uses or wears should always be branded.

She answered: “Not really. I mean, if it is, it is. If it’s not, then I don’t care, you know. As long as you’re wearing something.

“As long as it looks presentable, I don’t care.”
