For Filipino families, everyday support can mean having confidence in a financial institution, finding health and wellness products that meet their needs, or getting a free ride to a hospital.

These concerns find expression in three separate developments: Sun Life’s latest corporate governance recognition, PascualLab’s continuing 80th-anniversary initiatives, and Gumaca’s introduction of electric tricycles for public services.

PASCUAL LAB KEEPS THE GALING GOING AT 80

Eight decades after its founding, Pascual Laboratories, Inc. (PascualLab) continues to evolve alongside Filipino families, introducing family-friendly health and wellness products that address changing consumer needs, while remaining rooted in the values of quality, care, and malasakit.

Founded in 1946 by Isosceles and Leonora Pascual to address the post-war needs of Filipinos, PascualLab has grown from a family-founded enterprise into the company behind household brands such as: Ascorbic Acid (Poten-Cee), Vitex negundo L. Lagundi Leaf (Ascof Lagundi), C-Lium Fibre, and OraCare Mouthrinse.

Guided by its vision of Strong, Healthy Families, PascualLab continues to mark its 80th anniversary with the #GalingThatKeepsGoing, a theme that honors its heritage, reflects its purpose, and celebrates the Filipino excellence carrying it into the future.

Galing (Healing)

Over time, the health and wellness needs of many Filipinos have changed.

This 2026, PascualLab continues to evolve alongside them, offering new health products and innovations designed to make everyday wellness relevant and accessible to every Filipino family.

These include the launch of MyColla-C, a premium Collagen + Vitamin C support for those in their mid-30s and 40s as they embrace their next brightest chapter; Paracetamol + Vitamin B1 + Vitamin B6 + Vitamin B12 (Alevia-B) for triple action relief of mild to moderate muscle, joint, and nerve pain.

The company also relaunched its Poten-Cee Gummies, Ascorbic Acid in a yummy, gummy form to support the Vitamin C needs of young members of the family; Pelargonium sidoides DC. Root (PELARGO), a natural option for relief from the common cold.

Galing (Excellence)

Behind these innovations is the galing of PascualLab’s people—professionals whose expertise, commitment, and malasakit continue to move the company forward.

For PascualLab, however, excellence is not only about creating innovative and relevant health products, it's also about making them accessible and affordable.

In celebration of its 80th year, the company also offered PHP80 off selected products through one of the country’s top drugstores, as a gesture of gratitude for the many years of continued trust and support.

Galing (Roots)

Through it all, PascualLab is inspired by its vision of Strong Healthy Families while remaining rooted in the spirit of care or malasakit upon which its founders built the company.

As it celebrates its 80th this 2026, it celebrates a legacy founded on quality and care – and looks ahead to a future of stronger, healthier Filipino families.

AN ARROW AWARD FOR eight CONSECUTIVE YEARs

Held at The Makati Shangri-La, the recognition ceremony was attended by Sun Life Philippines Country Head and CEO JJ Moreno and General Counsel Atty. Paolo Macapagal.

For the financial services company, the recognition underscores the importance of responsible decision-making, risk management, and accountability in protecting clients’ interests.

“Receiving the Golden Arrow Award for the eighth consecutive year is an affirmation of the standards we have consistently upheld.

"More than the recognition itself, what matters is what good governance enables us to do for our Clients and stakeholders: make responsible decisions, safeguard their interests, and earn their trust every day,” said Moreno.

The ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard evaluates companies against established governance principles and practices.

Sun Life sees these standards as part of building an organization that can serve clients through different life stages and economic conditions.

“Our Clients entrust us with some of their most important financial goals. That responsibility calls for transparency, accountability, and integrity in how we run our business. Strong corporate governance helps us honor that trust and remain a partner our Clients can count on for the long term,” Moreno added.

Gumaca's Libreng Sakay Program

Supporting family wellness also means helping people reach the services they need.

In Gumaca, Quezon, a separate initiative is making electric mobility part of that effort.

Led by Mayor Webster Letargo, the municipality recently received E-RONDA electric tricycles for government operations and the mayor’s Libreng Sakay program.

Some units will be assigned to municipal agencies to support service delivery and help reduce fuel and operating expenses.

Others will provide free transportation, particularly for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and residents traveling to government offices and other essential destinations.

Proposed stops include the municipal hall, public markets, transport terminals, hospitals, schools, and commercial areas.

The initiative grew from discussions that began in March 2026, when E-RONDA Founder and Managing Director Jojo G. Vega introduced the vehicles to the Quezon Mayors’ League and met Letargo.

Their engagement continued in May through the Liveable Cities event at the Asian Institute of Management, where Vega was a resource speaker.

"Our journey with Gumaca began with a simple conversation about how electric mobility could help local communities. Seeing Mayor Letargo turn that conversation into a meaningful initiative for his constituents is exactly what we envisioned for E-RONDA — practical, sustainable mobility that makes a difference in people's everyday lives," said Vega.

Owned and marketed by Proximagen Trading Corporation, E-RONDA is a Philippine electric tricycle brand offering vehicles with zero tailpipe emissions.

The Gumaca rollout puts that technology to work in municipal operations and community transportation.

The three developments address different needs, but each brings attention to how organizations serve people over time: through responsible stewardship, products developed around family needs, and more accessible transportation.
