One of the biggest challenges most teen celebrities have to face is balancing their time between their showbiz careers and studies.
ABS-CBN actress Miles Ocampo proves that it's not impossible to do so, as long as you know your priorities.
The former child star is now a third year Theater Arts student at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.
Miles talked about the struggles of being a celebrity/student in Salaysay ng Sandali, a series of photos and features about the students of UP Diliman.
This photo collective was uploaded by Sipat, a community journalism page on Facebook headed by CNN Philippines Editor and UP Journalism instructor Theresa Reyes.
In her interview, Miles admitted that she doesn't have perfect attendance, but makes sure that she submits all her requirements on time.
The former Goin' Bulilit star said, "Sobrang hirap pagsabayin ang pag-aaral at trabaho.
"Ngayon nga napapaisip ako, di ko alam kung paano ko siya nairaos.
"Ang kalaban mo kasi talaga ay yung pagod at puyat.
"Pero I am proud to say naman na masipag ako when it comes to completing my requirements.
"Proud nga ako sa sarili ko every time sinasabi ng mga teachers ko na kahit palagi daw akong absent, very responsible naman daw ako.
"Kasi I make sure talaga na kahit absent ako, nagtatanong ako ng missed requirements ko, at pinapasa ko talaga siya.
"Hindi talaga biro pagsabayin yung pag-aaral at ang trabaho. Pero nandun yung willingness ko to do both.
"Yung passion ko sa trabaho ko at yung puso ko sa isang bagay na kahit hindi na ako artista ay maipagmamalaki ko pa din. Yung diploma ko."
Miles was also asked about the ups and downs of being a celebrity student.
The Kapamilya actress said she initially didn't have the the right mindset for it until she joined a Bible study group.
The actress related, "Di naman mawawala ang ups and downs sa lahat ng bagay.
"I'll admit na dati, I'm too weak. Iyakin ako.
"Iniiyakan ko lahat ng bagay. Pero habang tumatagal, I realized that everything really happens for a reason.
"Lalo na when I started to join my spiritual family, my Bible study group, mas lalong lumakas yung faith ko."
Currently, Miles found a new love: creative writing.
Because of this, the former teen star plans to shift courses and take up UP's Malikhaing Pagsulat.
Miles hopes to write her own film in the future, and explores more of the world after finishing her studies.
She said, "Plans after graduation, since I'll shift to Malikhaing Pagsulat, gusto ko makapagsulat ng pelikula. Mainstream, or sa TV. Kahit ano.
"Basta gusto ko magsulat, at umarte pa din at the same time. And of course, to travel, to explore."
