This September, Kobe and Andre Paras, the good-looking and talented sons of comedian and former professional baller Benjie Paras, open up their family home in Pasig City to YES! magazine.
The Paras brothers candidly shared stories about their brotherhood, their love for basketball, and their plans for the future.
Their home is a newly renovated, three-story modern Asian structure. Benjie and his wife Lyxen put their heads together to come up with their home’s interior design.
Kobe and Andre also share this loving home with their adorable half-brothers Sam and Riley and half-sister Georja.
Aside from showing us their favorite spaces, Kobe and Andre talked about their unbreakable bond as brothers.
Kobe related that if he were to get married the next day, he’d pick his Kuya Andre as his best man.
"We’re super close,” the Gilas team member said. “If I’m gonna get married, he’s my best man. It doesn’t matter if we don’t talk for a year, our connection is still gonna be there.
But as with any siblings, the two brothers also had their fair share of rivalry.
"But don’t get me wrong, we weren’t always best friends. When we were kids, we were mortal enemies. Like, we were rivals, something like that. But it just wears off,” Kobe continued.
Andre then recalled the worst fight he and Kobe had, which happened while they were playing Playstation 2 (PS2), a home video game console.
"We were young, like, eight, nine,” he said. “We were playing PS2, and then… I don’t know. He’s weird in a way na when he plays, he doesn’t wanna fight—and that’s the whole point.
"He just wanted to roam around [the room]...
"I went behind his back and I started beating him, then he threw the remote [control]. I think, that day, he didn’t want to play with me anymore.”
Even as grown-ups, Andre said they still tease each other.
"But it’s not like to the point na iiyak or magsusumbong," he pointed out, chuckling. “It’s for fun lang, and at the same time, I guess, it’s a way of testing the bond we have."
