Regine Angeles was 40 weeks pregnant when she gave birth to baby Viktor Alesso.

“Bakit ba ayaw lumabas pa ng baby ko?” became her constant question.

Aside from the waiting time, the “pressure” coming from people who were also excited to see her baby ended up doubling her anxiety.

In an interview with Regine via Facebook messenger, she wrote, “As a first time mom, I was very anxious and excited for him to come out.

“Most of my batch mates (like Erika Padilla, Steff Prescott, Camille Prats) gave birth before me…

“But then, I kept on reminding myself that he will come out at his own pace and when he's ready.”

This wasn’t the case when she reached her 37th week.

In an Instagram post dated September 14, she mentioned, “I am on complete bed rest…and malambot na cervix ko at 1 cm.”

She asked her baby, “Anak, please wag ka muna lumabas…”

Among her worries then was that her OB-gynecologist Dr. Marie Cruz Javier was due to come back from an out-of-the-country trip on September 19.

She had her next check-up on September 20.

Posting a photo of her flawless tummy, Regine’s post was: “Almost at my 39th week.

“Anak, tara na!!! Andito na si Dra.”

The perfect time for her baby boy was October 2.

Since she and her husband Van Victor Leaño had enough time to prepare everything she needed, the 31-year-old star was quite chill.

“I was able to put lipstick...”

When asked about her kilay, she replied, “My eyebrows are permanent. 3D embroidery by Momoi Supe.”

She also looked fresh and had no eyebags.

Add to these, “I guess, I was really lucky lang that I didn’t get any pimples during my pregnancy.”

She was admitted to St. Luke’s Medical Center-Global City at 3:30 p.m.

She wrote on Instagram, “I was at 4 cm by then.

“I went to the labor room around 9:30 pm, and he was born around 11 p.m.”

She described her delivery as "smooth," and her labor, “very fast.”

And the first time she saw baby Viktor, Regine said in her Facebook message, “I cried when I first saw him.

“So it was really a wonderful feeling to finally see him in the flesh and to hold him close to me."

LUCKY PREGGY. Regine’s journey to motherhood had not been difficult, and she didn’t have the usual complaints of moms-to-be.

In fact, “I was even working till my 34th week for The Better Half,” which starred Shaina Magdayao, Carlo Aquino, JC de Vera, and Denise Laurel.

She did have episodes of “heartburn,” which were remedied by avoiding “fried foods.”

Her sugar also went up, so her “natural sugar came from fruits.”

But other than that, “Lahat kinakain ko pa din.

“And sometimes, when I cannot control it anymore, siyempre, naggi-give in pa din ako sa cravings ko like chocolates, cakes, etc.”

And unlike most pregnant women, “Hindi ako nag-manas,” which is also known as edema.

According to BabyCenter.com, swollen feet, legs, hands, ankles, and face are normal because, during pregnancy, "the body produces approximately fifty percent more blood and body fluids to meet the needs of the developing baby."

Regine's simple solution: "Drinking plenty of water."

Best of all, she didn’t gain a lot of weight.

“I was around 117 pounds before I got pregnant. My last weigh in was 138 pounds, so I gained 20 pounds.”

To lose the extra weight, “I am breastfeeding now because I only want the best for my baby, plus it will help you lose weight daw fast.”
