Thinking of a nice Valentine's Day gift? Give your sweetheart a bouquet of rainbow-colored roses. Or how about a bouquet of chocolates, pastillas, or her favorite stuffed toy for maximum kilig?

Flowers are staple must-haves every Valentine's season.

It's not uncommon to find couples walking hand-in-hand carrying an assortment of flowers on the special day.

And whether they admit it or not, most women secretly yearn for that unexpected bouquet of roses from that special someone.

Let's face it. However trite or overrated they may be, flowers are still one of the best ways to flaunt your romantic streak.

Guys, take heed. As with all gifts, creativity is key.

Do you think you can score more pogi points with just a typical bundle of red roses and a box of chocolates?

Or are you brilliant and creative enough to really go out on a limb to figure out what makes your significant other really, really tick?

Sometimes, it's not even a question of budget.

While various flower shops and flower markets offer a variety of bouquet arrangements, here are some unusual  bundles that may help set yours apart from the rest of the crowd.

Sunflowers. An emerging favorite this Valentine's season, sunflowers are freshly delivered to flower markets every day.

These sunflowers come mostly from Baguio and Tagaytay.

At the flower markets, a stem currently costs PHP250 to PHP300.

You may ask to bundle them up into a bouquet, but expect the price to shoot up to at least PHP4,000.*

Ecuadorian roses. Red roses are the perennial symbol for love, and have been a standard choice for many couples.

Among the variants of roses, the Ecuadorian rose is queen.

One stem costs from PHP350 to PH 450, depending on where you purchase them.

Bouquet arrangements may range from PHP1,500 to PHP6,000.

Rainbow-colored roses. Aside from the usual red roses, others look for uniquely-colored roses to give their bouquet some flair.

So, for sheer shock value, why not purchase a bouquet of rainbow-colored roses?

Of course, expect a hefty price tag for a dozen, which could cost you around PHP6,000.

"Filler" Flowers. While these flowers are usually used to fill in the empty spaces in an arrangement, they still make a pretty bouquet on their own.

Some known filler flowers are carnations, alstromeria, peonies, and gerbera daisies.

A bundle costs up to PHP180 at the Dangwa Flower Market.

Rose glass domes. Sometimes, a simple flower can look extra special depending on its presentation.

Just take a look at Marian Rivera's rose glass domes from her shop, Flora Vida.

According to its site, one rose glass dome is worth PHP5,000.

Flower box sets. You may also decide to present your bouquet in a box.

At Dangwa Flower Market, a box set may range from PHP150 to PHP1,200 depending on the size and trimmings.

Chocolate flowers. Chocolates can be clever alternative to floral bouquets.

Instead of a dozen red roses, why not give your partner a glittery bundle of Ferrero chocolates?

This sweet confection costs around PHP1,500.

Pastillas bouquet. If you find chocolates overrated, why not switch it up with a bouquet of flower-shaped pastillas?

SweetBlooms Rose Pastillas offers fairly affordable bouquets for prices under PHP1,000.

Stuffed toy bouquet. Here's another alternative to flowers and chocolate bouquets: stuffed toys!

Pick your partner's favorite character and bundle them up in a pretty bow.

An arrangement is marked at PHP1,500.

*Note: Expect prices for flowers to double starting February 12.
