ABS-CBN host-turned-actor Donny Pangilinan couldn't be more proud of his younger sister Hannah Pangilinan.
Donny is the second among Maricel Laxa and Anthony Pangilinan's five children. His three other siblings are Ella (21 years old), Benjamin (15 years old), and Solana (5 years old).
So far, Donny and Hannah are the only ones who have shown interest in joining the entertainment industry.
Donny has been busy being a MYX VJ and is now working on a movie titled Walwal.
Meanwhile, Hannah has been gaining a lot of attention for showing her candid side and talents through her YouTube vlog, which now has racked up 180,000 subscribers, since she started in July 2016.
On February 24, both Donny and Hannah were named as the newest Adidas PH Creators during the launch of the shoe brand's Spring/Summer 2018 collection at The Ruins in Poblacion, Makati City.
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Donny expressed how proud he is of her talented young sister.
He said, "Magaling kumanta yun, magaling din sumayaw, and magaling din umarte.
"Nasa kanya na lahat so I'm very proud of Hannah. Kahit ano kaya niyang gawin."
Donny said his sister is currently focusing on her studies which is why she opted to go for a vlog instead of joining showbiz full-time.
The Walwal actor noted, "Well, si Hannah, she's slowly coming out of her shell. Once she graduates high school, mas aano pa iyan, she'll go all out. She started on YouTube so I think slowly, she wants to get into it."
Of course, Donny makes sure to guide his siblings once they join the industry.
Regarding Hannah, he said, "She asks me advice on how I deal with these types of things. And we just help with each other, we're just very supportive of each other, and ganun din naman dapat."
Donny considers himself a "strict but not too strict" type of kuya especially to Hannah and his other younger sister.
He explained, "The type of kuya na will just look out for her. Siyempre, 18 na siya ngayon and ang dami nang nanliligaw sa kanya.
"Adult na siya ngayon so I guess you could call [me] a strict brother, but not to the point na OA naman.
"But ganun talaga ako, hands-on sa kanya. Basta lahat ng ginagawa niya, very supportive ako."
Donny usually gives Hannah a heads up or a piece of advice if he feels something wrong about a person or a situation.
The Star Magic talent narrated, "Basta yung restrictions ng how a normal kuya is usually, pag may kausap siyang lalaki, 'Uy, chill ka muna diyan...'
"Or if I see she's doing something that will probably hurt her in the future, I'll tell her about it.
"She also does the same for me. Kasi siblings will tell you stuff that other people won't tell you."
Like most siblings, Donny admitted that they also get into petty fights at times, but he considers it a learning experience.
Donny said, "Lahat kami. Lima kami, we've been together our entire life so fights are very normal."
He continued, "I think when we use each other's things kasi di ba ang dami namin so minsan, kunyari my brother, he'll use my clothes or I'll accidentally use his shoes.
"Something like that, small things. There's nothing really big that we fight about."
Still, Donny noted that at the end of the day, they're still siblings, and "it's important to apologize, just get over it and move on."
