Liza Soberano, Marian Rivera, and Anne Curtis are three female celebrities setting examples to young entrepreneurs.

As we celebrate International Women's Day today, March 8, (Philippine Entertainment Portal) lists down some the biggest celebrities who founded their own businesses or considered the CEO of their own company.

Over the past few years, more and more celebrities have taken time off their busy showbiz schedules to start their own companies, adding "entrepreneur" to the multiple hats they wear while turning their passions into a money-making business.

This list of 10 female celebrities currently serves as an inspiration for young women entrepreneurs to start and be successful in their own businesses.

Kris Aquino has successfully made her transition to digital media in the past few years.

After leaving ABS-CBN in September 2016, Kris has built herself a social media empire which has amassed hundreds of thousands of subscribers.

In 2012, Kris formed Kris Aquino Productions, Inc. to produce films and television shows.

Her company, now known as Kris C. Aquino Productions (KCAP), along with 9 creative staff members now produces the content for all of her digital platforms.

Since then, Kris social media following continues to grow and now has over 1.2 million likes on Facebook, 3.4 million followers on Instagram, 1.52 million on Twitter, and 162,000 plus subscribers on YouTube.

GMA-7 Prime Time Queen Marian Rivera is also a very hands-on CEO.

Marian personally manages her own online flower shop called Flora Vida which formally opened in April 2017.

The Kapuso actress pretty much handles everything with the help of one secretary, and sometimes, her husband, Dingdong Dantes.

In an exclusive interview with (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Marian detailed how much effort she puts in every order at her online flower shop.

Marian noted, "As of now, ako lang kasi at saka isang secretary ko lang, e.

"Ako lang lahat, e. Ako nagde-design ng box ko, ako bibili nung flowers, ako magkokonsepto kung anong gagawin ko. Ako lahat, e.

"Kumbaga siya, 'May order…' Send niya sa akin sa e-mail, 'Ito yung mga order for today, ito yung address, ito yung pangalan.'

"'Tapos pag hindi na ako maka-reply, 'Ikaw na mag-reply diyan.'"

She added, "At saka yung letter ko, pag bumibili ka kasi, may letter ako, parang sabi ko, 'Sana yung maliit na halimbawa itong flower na 'to, habang ginagawa ko kasi siya, masaya ako, sana ma-extend ko yung happiness ko the way na mahalin ko yung family ko, para sa family mo.'"



In May 2017, Kathryn Bernardo opened her very own nail salon called Kathnails by KCMB.

This is Kathryn's first-ever business venture which is also managed by her mom, Luzviminda Bernardo, as well as her sisters, Chrysler and Kaye.

The business has grown since and has now three branches located in Pasay City, Caloocan City, and Quezon City.

The La Luna Sangre star said, "Ito yung project na naging hands-on kaming lahat dahil ako rin mahilig ako magpa-nails.

"Very meticulous ako sa mga gamit na gagamitin, sa services, and sa hitsura ng salon."



At the age of 19, Bagani star Liza Soberano also became a CEO of her own wellness center.

In December 2017, The Kapamilya actress formally opened the HOPE Hand and Foot Wellness Center located at Tomas Morato Avenue in Quezon City.

This is the first time Liza opened a business and she hopes to spread the importance of having wellness rituals through her new business.

She told PEP in an interview, "It is forever. You can do whenever you want and wherever you want.

"Wellness knows no age; knows no gender; knows no walk of life. If you feel stressed out, you simply gotta find a way to deal with it."

TV host-model Georgina Wilson co-founded Sunnies Studios with her BFFs Martine Cajucom, Bea Soriano, and Eric Dee Jr. in 2013.

Sunnies Studios is now one of the leading sunglasses and prescription glasses store in the country with over 40 branches nationwide.

The success of their eyewear brand also led them to open the restaurant Sunnies Cafe, which now has three branches in the metro.

Just recently, Georgina and her team also launched their line of prescription glasses for kids called Sunnies Specs Kids.



ABS-CBN actress-host Anne Curtis also turned her passion for makeup into a business venture.

In September 2017, the 33-year-old It's Showtime host launched her very own makeup line called BLK Cosmetics.

When asked what inspired her to put up her own cosmetics brand, Anne said, "I always post my lipstick... putting on lipstick and whatnot.

"And people always ask me, 'Ate, what's [your] lipstick shade? What's your contour, what's your blush?'

"I was like, it would be so much nice sana if I could give something to them that's attainable to them."

Currently, BLK Cosmetics is available at over 20 Watsons and SM Beauty stores in the metro.


Dr. Vicki Belo is one of the most successful women entrepreneurs in the country.

At 61, Vicki's health and beauty empire has expanded into three different companies—the Belo Medical Group (BMG), Intelligent Skin Care Inc., and Intelligent Beauty Skin Solutions.

According to Entrepreneur Philippines, Belo's companies reportedly had combined revenues of PHP1.55 billion and combined net income of PHP55.61 million in 2015.

On Sunday, March 6, Belo was invited to the GoNegosyo 10th Filipina Entrepreneurship Summit as one of the guest speakers.

ABS-CBN reported that the beauty doctor considers Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez as her very first celebrity client and the one who inspired her to start her own clinic.

Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado opened a three-in-one business called Fit and Form Club in 2015.

Fit and Corm Club is a boutique, salon, and spa located at T. Gener corner K3rd Streets in Kamuning, Quezon City.

Jennylyn doesn't really know much about business but considers this project an investment especially for her and her family's future.

She said in a previous interview with PEP, "Hindi naman ito yung forte ko, e. Kumbaga, pinasok ko lang siya, siyempre, for my future.

"Kung ano man ang mangyari, di ba, sa showbiz."

Aside from Fit and Form, she also has a franchise of Elorde Quantum Fitness at UP Techno Hub along Commonwealth Avenue, and a coffee shop called Bean Leaf in Timog, both in Quezon City.

In just two years, Sam Pinto was able to establish two businesses under her name: a swimwear brand called Sirena Swimwear PH and the L'Sirene Boutique Resort in Baler Aurora.

In an interview with (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Sam said her love for the beach and surfing inspired her to put up this kind of businesses.

When asked how involved she is with her businesses, she answered, "Super. Ako yung nag-design ng resort, like yung mga rooms. I bought all the toiletries, shampoo.

"Ako minsan ang nagpapalit ng mga bed sheets kasi I need to learn how to do it also."

Singer-actress Rachel Alejandro co-founded The Sexy Chef food delivery service with her sister Chef Barni Alejandro-Rennebeck.

Now on its 14th year, The Sexy Chef remains as Manila's top diet and health food provider.

In a previous interview with PEP, Rachel recalled how their business started, "“Ever since naman talaga, when I was like a young girl, I was already getting chubby.

"And my sister, parang I asked her na parang mahilig din siya magluto. And together, we thought of, 'Let’s create healthy meals for people.'

Their business's success also led them to publish three cook books—The Sexy Chef Cookbook, Eat Clean Love, and 21 Days to a Sexier You—which are all under Summit Books.
