Marian Rivera has turned her passion for flowers into a business called Flora Vida by Marian, an online flower shop which specializes on preserved flower arrangements personally prepared and designed by the actress herself.
In a previous interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Marian revealed that her husband surprised her with Flora Vida's Department of Trade and Industry permit as a Christmas gift in 2016.
In April 2017, Marian officially opened her online flower shop after finishing a crash course in floral arrangement under world-renowned florist Nicolai Bergmann.
Marian has always been passionate about flowers since it gives her positive vibes every time she feels stressed out.
She told PEP.ph in an exclusive interview last February 2, "Mahilig talaga ako sa bulaklak, sa Instagram ko, makikita niyo kapag nagpupunta ako ng iba't ibang lugar, nagpi-picture ako ng flowers."
When asked why they chose Flora Vida, which means Flower Life, as her shop's name, Marian explained, "Flora Vida kasi parang giving life sa living things, parang pagbibigay buhay, parang ganun."
Marian said it has always been her dream to put up her own business.
Having a flower shop was also included on her and Dong's year-end bucket list which they try to achieve the following year.
The Kapuso actress recalled, "Meron kasi kami ni Dong every year na nag-uusap kami, 'Anong gusto mo mangyare this year?'
"May sit-down talk, heart-to-heart talk kaming dalawa.
"Palagi yun, meron siyang pen and paper, ako din ganun, nasa restaurant kami 'tapos nagsusulat kami ng gusto naming i-achieve this year.
"Ganun kami, 'tapos at the end of the year, 'Ano na yung na-check mo?' Ano na yung na-achieve namin parehas?
"May ganun kami, may goal kami. Hindi kami yung go with the flow na lang, 'Bahala na kung ano mangyari this year.'
"Medyo organized kami sa ganyan."
Marian was grateful to her husband for inspiring her to set up the flower shop.
The 33-year-old actress, however, noted that passion still played an important part.
Kasi kapag ganyan, marami akong kailangang gawin."
The biggest challenge on being a hands-on celebrity entrepreneur is balancing time between one's career and the business.
In the case of Marian, squeezing in quality time with her husband as well as taking care of Baby Zia, makes it a lot more challenging.
The Super Ma'am star is just thankful to have a trustworthy secretary who helps take the orders and fix her schedule.
Marian noted, "As of now, ako lang kasi at saka isang secretary ko lang, e.
And when it comes to bulk orders, Marian narrated, "Yun talaga ngarag, kaya minsan si Dong, sinasabi niya, 'Okay ka lang ba?'
As of the moment, Marian doesn't really mind the financial aspect of her new business just as long as she's able to pursue her passion.
The celebrity mom added, "Ganun ako, kumbaga ginagawa ko siya out of passion.
