Mariel de Leon, 22, is proud to be #ConfidentlyCurvy.

Have you seen Mariel de Leon lately?

Earlier today, March 10, the outgoing Binibining Pilipinas International posted on Instagram a groufie with fellow Binibini titlists—Katarina Rodriguez, Miss Intercontinental 2017 1st runner-up; Elizabeth Clenci, Miss Grand International 2nd runner-up; Rachel Peters, Miss Universe Philippines; Chanel Olive Thomas, Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2017,

Mariel was noticeably voluptuous in her Mikee Andrei gown.

In another post, she confessed, "I love eating..."

Given that the society set "thin" as the standard for being sexy, the 22-year-old beauty queen anticipated that she would be bashed by body shamers.

But before they could attack her on social media, the daughter of Christopher de Leon and Sandy Andolong posted an "unflattering" photo, and stated, "I don’t care. I am proud of the woman I am today and nothing will ever shake my confidence and my love for myself."

Mariel said she is not alien to body shaming and bullying, and is not ashamed of being "#ConfidentlyCurvy."

She further wrote, "It's time to show the media and everyone else that we won’t be swayed by their standards and the crazy standards set by society. No matter what color, race, religion, shape, or size.

"Love yourself, queen."

I know I look unflattering in that photo. But you know what? I don’t care. I am proud of the woman I am today and nothing will ever shake my confidence and my love for myself. I know how it feels. I’ve been a victim of body shaming and bullying. It does take time to learn to love yourself but you’ll get there one day. Trust me. It took time for me but I learned to truly love myself, be happy, and not give a damn about what other people think of me. Ladies (and gents), its time we love ourselves for who we truly are. Never be ashamed of yourself. Never be ashamed of what or who makes you happy. Its time to show the media and everyone else that we won’t be swayed by their standards and the crazy standards set by society. No matter what color, race, religion, shape, or size. Love yourself, queen. #ConfidentlyCurvy #LoveYourselfQueen
